Can see it happening mate the Talksport commentator on site reckons england fans are already bending Woy's ear about barkley.

You know the OX who according to Roy was outstanding lost the ball several times attempting dribbles, yet Roy didn't mention that!

Either he really his a dinosaur of a manager focusing on the defensive side of the game
Or
He was trying to protect Barkley and went about it in completely the wrong way!

The 3rd reason (which I believe could be the case) is Roy is petrified of Ross Barkley being demanded by the media and fans to start as No.10 instead of Rooney!

Ox was easily the best player on the pitch the other night, and Ross does actually need to learn about when to give the ball and when to keep it.

Do you honestly think that the bigger clubs of the footballing world don't already know about Barkley ? They most likely knew about him when he was a teenager. The only thing a good world cup will do, is possible inflate his valuation. But even then its pretty pointless because we have a guy at our club who swears blind he doesn't sell his star players, even for 50M !

There aren't many English clubs who could afford him, and I can't see him going abroad. FFP and their spending limitation punishment will prevent Manchester City from signing him. United are overloaded with number 10's, and I don't think they could justify a big investment in yet another number 10 when their midfield and defence is so unbelievably cack! So that only really leaves Chelsea, and I can't see them paying what we would demand. He will be at Everton next season, no matter how much the media want him to be sold.

I'm gonna throw it out there that Ross will start against Italy. For me that's a big reason why Roy started Rooney on the left wing Wednesday, to see if he could do a job there so that he could play Ross in the middle. He does throw the odd surprises in important games does Roy, such as Townsend against Montenegro, and he was probably hoping to keep this one as a surprise hence why he was playing his achievements down after the game. That's my theory anyway, and it could well turn out to be my worst yet

I think Ross will start on the bench, the middle will comprise Gerrard and Lampard with Rooney sitting in front. No way will he drop Rooney and Rooney is cack out left or right. There again has been cack for a while now Ferguson knocked all the football genius out of him.

Mate have you seen the size of City and Chelseas squad? They have both been stockpiling players for years now.
