I think smith is ok.I,m more worried about us missing out and not going for players than what other teams do.
If bt goes smith would be a good replacement kenwright needs to start making some money available

So Newcastle will have Owen, Martins, Viduka and Smith. I make Smith 4th in the queue there. Good to see he's joining for the first team football and not the 150k a week. And they wonder quite how they came to be £80 million in debt. I bet Mr Ashley wishes he kept the receipt.

I think VDM, if he doesnt get injured and stays fit, could come right, hes hardly started any games for us since his move and has hardly been allowed to settle into the first team game. I think the Smith situation is almost dead and buried.

I don't quite agree, if the BT deal goes through I think we will put a bid in and see where smith chooses.

I agree about smith we haven,t got the cash,it seems we are upping our bid for baines to nearly 6 million and i bet the extra 2 mill from the first offer will be out of what we get for bt leaving us with 2 million to spend on a striker.

Didn't Robson say in the press that he urges beattie to drop his wages?

I can't see Beattie joining Sheffield Utd in a lower league, on less money.

It's alarming to see that we struggle to cough up money. How many seasons do we have to struggle to pay for our new stadium? I'd rather we not move and spend the money on players for another couple of seasons.

That attitude will be bad for the club long-term. We need to move to continue to grow. We will be just fine, I expect to see 2 more players with us to try and ease some of the upcoming burden.

In what way is it bad? I'm not against a move just fancy delaying it for 2 years. Don't just say it's bad because you choose to believe that way. There's bigger money coming in from the league next year more so if we finish as high as possible so why don't we consolidate our league position first then use the money on the new stadium next season.
