Boss Players You Thought Would Be Gash

Nigel Martyn, wondered why on earth we were signing a keeper that old and near retirement for, been far the best keeper we had since Neville by miles

Hopefully in years to come i will be saying McGeady though, as i was scathing about the signing prior to him arriving

Probably the wrong thread but Seamus Coleman...I knew nothing about him whatsoever, I figured he would just be another one of those youth team players that would disappear on a free 2-3 years later.

My gut feeling is we will remember Howard much more fondly 10 years from now.

I think it's the right thread. NOBODY had heard of him...you simply don't get quality for a bag of balls these days.

Howard isn't my favourite player, not by any stretch of the imagination. Us toffees who remember Nev, well nobody will ever live up to those standards. I think Howard is probably a better than average Premier league 'keeper. Seems like a good guy too so I think without having 20M to risk on a David de Gea type he is probably the best we can hope for at the moment. He's been loyal and he most definitely isn't [Poor language removed]. When you look at it, how many 'keepers in the premier league would you take over him?

Exactly...

Carsley. I remember when he signed thinking if we sign Ashley Ward as well I'm giving up my season ticket.

Resigning Duncan ferguson I thought was a mistake at the time. I was wrong.

Kanchelskis for me.
Reason being I couldn't understand at the time why United would sell him so assumed his legs had gone or something, but how wrong could I be.

You really couldn't have thought he was going to be gash though?! As I remember it he pretty much went on strike to force the move!

Sadly, all I remember of him is highlights on youtube. I was gutted when we sold him to Fiorentina, wasn't it?
