Meh.

Message to Howard:

We'll boo who we like Tim lad. The reasons are quite well established.

He got a standing ovation last May because he was still our manager at that point. He isn't now and has behaved like a tit in lots of ways. You might think he's boss, good for you. We'll think what we like. Be careful what you say about us.

I wonder if any Liverpool players criticised Liverpool fans for booing Torres when he came back to Anfield?
Nah, didn't think so.

A brilliant manager who has just been sacked after we defeated him, again.

Well in Tim. ;)

Oh some people here are honestly the most delicate little flowers
Tim Howard is a blue through and through
He loves the club first and foremost, he calls himself a blue and wants to retire a blue- and will most likely be around the top club appearance makers by the time he does it
He was brought to us by Moyes, and feels a great sense of allegiance to the man that helped develop him- but god forbid he says so!

"Careful now Tim"
"We'll boo who we like Tim lad... between Howard and Distin we must have the most thin-skinned players in the Premier League..."

Its the fans who are thin-skinned: god forbid a player holds a different opinion to you.

Practically everyone in that ground either booed or sang against Moyes yesterday. It was a very enjoyable atmosphere, richly deserved.

I'm really not arsed about players having a different opinion, I said that in the post. However, it is an issue when papers jump on his comments and use it to bash Everton fans.

Anyway, it really doesn't matter now, as Moyes imminent sacking will bury the story and no-one will be talking about it now.

Who cares what the papers jump in on? I don't want to censor our players.
People would rather players shut up and don't rock the boat in any shape or form-
I for one like the fact that Distin actively engages with the trolls
He simply can NOT understand how some "fans" will say such awful things and behave with such a lack of perspective after losing 1 in 8
I like players who take on over-entitled fans: "we pay for our tickets we can boo who we want."
fair enough- but players represent your club, and they're entitled to disagree with you.

can we strip him of his new contract please? ha.

everyone's entitled to their own opinion like. think he should have just accepted that fans pay the money for their seat and have the right to do whatever, as long as it's not of a criminal nature.

Exactly. He's entitled to his opinion, but he is also being something of a revisionist in his opinion given.

Moyes wasn't booed because of the job he did at Everton in 11 years. He was booed because of his lies he told and continues to tell, and for his conduct towards Everton since leaving.

Something Howard does not acknowledge. He also somewhat takes the piss with the 'messiah' remark; again, that was in recognition of his 11 years efforts. Things changed when he left and when the true story and feelings came out.

It's not just the fans feelings, it's other things - like how he marginalised the historical figures at the club, banning Kendall from the training ground, not fully embracing our history. Talking us down, him and his staff - the likes of Neville saying 10th would be good enough for us. The whole lot of them didn't 'get' this club - ironically in the same way that United are now saying that Moyes didn't 'get' their club.

It's not surprising that Tim is saying these things about the man who signed him from United and gave him the platform to prove he wasn't a dud signed from MLS...

That said, he should: a) have the intelligence to understand why the fans gave Moyes that reception b) not speak to the media about said reception.

Moyes ruined himself in the minds of many an Evertonian after his departure. Agree with Tim Iroegbunam regards to this though... Moyes did many great things for Everton. Grateful for who/what he was.

Some of our non-Scouse older players are too bitchy about the fans for me.

To be fair, mate. I think Tim knows what's what. He credited the fans for our support and the atmosphere, but for him, booing Moyes left a sour taste. Which I think is understandable as he probably considers Moyes his friend.

Tims ace!! Who cares what the BBC write, loaded questions perhaps, either way its what he does on the pitch that counts, dont forget he has had some stick from whoppers in the park end himself this season so its understandable what he is saying
