As Arsenal took 1 pt from RS and United, finishing 3rd would seem to be a great accomplishment what a brutal set of fixtures. If they don't get 9 from Sunderland, @Stoke, and Swansea, I would not be surprised if they wilt in historic fashion.

Feb 8 @ Liverpool
Feb 12 United

Feb 16 Liverpool (FA Cup)
Feb 19 Bayern (CL)
Feb 22 Sunderland
Mar 1 @ Stoke

Mar 11 @ Bayern (CL)
Mar 16 @ Spurs
Mar 22 @ Chelsea
Mar 29 City
Apr 5 @ Everton

Stoke will batter Arsenal. The wind there is unreal which kills passing sides and boils down to a physical test, which Arsenal and their midgets routinely fail. Said it before, would not be surprised in the slightest to see them finish fifth. Toothless upfront, no presence in midfield, and slow in defence. They get exposed every time they have a real test.

Wow, is that Arsenal's run-in?. They are in some serious faeces fight to get fourth even. I am still hopeful (rather than optimistic) that we can still pull off 4th

Surely if Arsenal fell away again the club would have to sack Wenger, or at least not out the new contract on the table for him to sign?

Wither that or go behind his back and sign some more players and sell the ones that are clearly not good enough. The fact is Arsenal were top of the league for a long time and after not buying anyone they are slipping away (sounds familiar.....) but Wenger does this every year.

Basically, to have any chance at all of coming top 4 we've got to do what we haven't done for many a season, and that is put together 4 or 5 wins on the bounce. I can't recall Moyes ever doing it and for all the improvement this season, neither has Martinez.

We have done before. won 6 in a row, i remember Bill Grinning on final score saying we would change our website to wwwwww.

That season we finished 4th.....

traore, lukaku and deulofeu coming back could give us that bounce...its very unlikely but players coming back could give us that boost

Need to win these.
Palace (H)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Cardiff (H)
Swansea (H)
Fulham (A)
Sunderland (A)
United (H)
Southampton (A)
Hull (A)

Need to take a few points from these:
City (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)

We need near perfection from here on in, and it just won't happen. We'll finish 7th.

Winning the first 10 on the list and losing the last 3 will do for me - meaning 75 pts total for us and a leg up for the top 3 to stop the RS from winning the league.

Arsenal's schedule updated:

Feb 8 @ Liverpool
Feb 12 United
Feb 16 Liverpool (FA Cup)

-----------------------
Feb 19 Bayern (CL)
Feb 22 Sunderland
Mar 1 @ Stoke
Mar 8/9 Everton (FA Cup)
Mar 11 @ Bayern (CL)
Mar 16 @ Spurs
Mar 22 @ Chelsea

Not sure when that Swansea fixture will be; let's hope for a close match Wed

United got 3 points from 2 pointer
Spurs got 0 points from 2 pointer
Liverpool got 3 points from 3 pointer
Arsenal got 3 points from a 3 pointer
We got 0 point from a 0 pointer

Next round:
Everton V/S West Ham = 3 pointer
Stoke V/S Arsenal = 1 pointer
Southampton V/S Liverpool = 1.5 pointer
Spurs V/S Cardif = 3 pointer
United's game is postponed

Projection:
Arsenal 79 points
Liverpool 77-78 points
Spurs 70-71 points
Everton 70 points
united 68 points

Spurs were the only losers this round while united got an extra point, the rest were as expected

We need to go on a run like we did in the first half of the season, we need to put a sequence of wins together

West Ham
Cardiff
Swansea
Newcastle and Palace along the way as well

Got to get 15 points from these games.

We reached 41 points on 11th Jan, we are currently on 45, it seems like it's taking ages to get to 50!

Next round:
WBA V/S United = 2 pointer
Chelsea V/S Spurs = 0 pointer

Liverpool overachieved once again and look like all but done in the race for top 4 while Arsenal might be on a freefall

Arsenal's run of games:

Feb 8 @ Liverpool L
Feb 12 United D
Feb 16 Liverpool (FA Cup) W

Feb 19 Bayern (CL) L
Feb 22 Sunderland W
Mar 1 @ Stoke L

-----------------------
Mar 8/9 Everton (FA Cup)
Mar 11 @ Bayern (CL)
Mar 16 @ Spurs
Mar 22 @ Chelsea
Mar 29 City
Apr 5 @ Everton

It's a long run, to grab 9 points with +1 game on them, but they're no lock for 1-2-3, so 4th and 5th are up for grabs by my reasoning. May take a substantial turn of form by the Blues, but not un- reasonable/likely/precedented. I think Arsenal would be doing well to get 4 points in their next 4 league games.

I think we've been looking a little tired, but then again, how much of that is down to no Lukaku? It's certainly a tough ask, i don't think anyone will deny that, but one thing for certain is that Arsenal always finish the season strongly, and seemingly everyone writes them off every season, but we've got a big opportunity with winnable games against Palace, Cardiff, Swansea and potentially United, and certainly have a chance against Arsenal and City at home. Away from home, we need to be looking at Newcastle, Sunderland, Hull certainly as ones to be picking up maximum if we want a chance. Either way, i'm enjoying the run, it's a small run, and i'd say it's unlikely, but it's Everton, we never do anything easy!
