what players do you think need selling/buying in the summer?

...we need a strong squad, can't understand the suggestion of selling Pienaar and Osman. Both have lots to offer and if they are not starters, it means we have a very useful team. Surely the surplus to requirements lads are those getting little or no playing time - Velios, Gueye, Hibbert. I'm also ok with Alcaraz, before the Derby folk were eulogising about him, and Kone. Don't be so eager to move players on who can add a bit of value, we'll regret it.

I dont understand why some are clamoring for Lukaku to be signed.

For that 20Mil we could find 3 quality players at various prices to make up that 20mil. While I agree we need a consistent goalscorer I think the more pressing need is quality squad depth, especially if Champions/Europa league games are on the schedule.

Fund the basics first then splash for luxury second.
 

Selling players should be really low down the agenda. We've got funds from the last couple of transfer windows. We don't need to sell to buy. (In any case the players it's been suggested here that we "get rid of" wouldn't go for a lot of money.) We do need to increase our squad size to cope with our Champions League commitments.

Although I think Lukaku's form had dropped I still disagree, I'd prioritise his purchase as we need a top striker more than anything. He's young and would grow with our other ace young guns, and with all his attributes and already being integrated into the squad, I think he'd be our best chance of a good investment.
 
The thought of losing anyone else right now makes me feel a bit sick. We need to operate on a one in one out basis in the summer, or we'll be lucky to have 11 senior players.

He's certainly not worth the £20m on form. I think we should be pointing at that and lowering the price, but for around £15m he's still a no brainer of a signing.

We can lose fringe players like Velios & Gueye, not that it would raise much. Other than 'Heits' we need to operate on a 4 in 0 out basis this summer.
 
Leon Osman - the lad is a liability offers next to nothing maybe 90% of the time, HATE when he starts
Sylvain Distin - Love Sylvian - but him at Jags are wrong side of 30, Stones just a bit too green - I think we need a decent CB to rotate for next season. (see below)
Antolin Alcaraz - Too injury prone, wrong side of 30 - get rid.
Steven Naismith - The Lads a championship quality striker. Although he is a decent squad player is he top 4 material?
Tony Hibbert Never sell - but maybe if he retires we can add a younger version of him. EG Solid defender not really a wing-back type.
Arouna Kone I think we should get rid or Maybe keep for another season just because we wont get anything for him?? Lose lose as far as cash goes.
Magaye Gueye Should take up swimming.
Apostolos Vellios If he won't go on loan and clearly is out of favor we should get rid.

We will need to look at the defence in the summer, try and get a couple of decent midfielders and maybe a new striker.
