we need to spend now tbh, its false economy to save when saving will see us slip down the league thus losing revenue from improved league position, and possibly a huge payment for europe, oh well two days to go and we will see where the ambition truly lies

If martinez wants to spend fine.

Just don't waste it I say.

I also say don't let other clubs take us for a ride. Pay over the odds.

Like Villa West ham Newcastle and others do.

Can people stop hiding behind this debt repayment excuse now?

We have made a profit before player sales, and these accounts do not include the massive increase in revenue from the new TV deal. Debt is not a problem.

There really aught to be plenty of money available.

On first read the accounts seem ok. Can certainly see why Martinez has said we are in decent financial position as if you add in £6.5m for Vic, 7m for jela and 27.5m for fellaini, we've had a lot come in. Ok, we bought players too but even so there is money left. That also ignores the new tv deal. We got just under £56m from tv in these accounts. Anyone know how much more the new deal provides?

I'd say including everything. Right now we're plus thirty.

By end next summer. We'll be plus 40m.

Unless martinez begins acquiring people before then

I can see it being put forward towards another wonderful new stadium scheme.

Bear in mind we brought in a few players last summer. Plus martinez compensation.

We're still net positive though.

By this summer he'll certainly have a warchest

We've got to be careful with it though.

Not turn into Villa or Westham or Newcastle.

Cleverer than them

please define war chest

I already did.

I don't want to repeat with media and other clubs fans on here.

We approach for one player theyll demand the lot.

We are flush with cash! Bill and his cronies are hiding it in a slush fund!

<insert other ludicrous theory here>

It isn't ludicrous though. It's there in black and white, a profit before player sales in an accounting period before the massive new TV deal came in.

Or is it being used to service the debt that has already been serviced? Yeah, that's a far more likely scenario.

anybody who has taken any interest in Martinez's career will know he prides himself on youth development and clubs haveing little debt.

Maybe he wants the club to get rid of the debt before he spends huge money?

wrong mate, the net profit swing is the difference between one years loss and the next years profit, as in we lost 9.1m the year before and made a profit of 1.6 the following year, = 10.7m profit swing so total of 1.6m made - still would mean that with trades of players this year we'd be sat around the 20m mark

Aye lad you were right i had misread it, missed the bit about the deprication of player value etc. Imo we will hit the summer window with 30mil and upwards to spend hopefully.
