Totally agree.
Oviedo might struggle to get many games this season but next season when we have the league, Europe and the cups to deal with he'll get plenty of games.

Specifically champions league b)

I love Bry, he always works his bollox off. He's as Everton a player I've seen.

I think that Oviedo is the better defender of the two but Baines is much more accomplished as a footballer. Solution is simple: Oviedo as full-back with Baines in front of him as left-midfield.

The critics would say that this formation would lack pace on the counter-attack, an important point I acknowledge.

Perhaps play them together at home with Mcready or Mirallas playing wide left for away games?

I look forward to seeing you with his name on the back of a shirt.

i don't think oviedo is a midfielder myself, very similar to coleman in that they're a good fullback/wing back, but struggle being higher up the pitch.

I reckon if you put Coleman in midfield now he would be much better and wouldn't look out of place. He's said himself that this season he's not afraid to get in the box and have a go at goal himself.
ultimately I think its good to have played both positions - the experience of one position will make you a better player in the other. I would have no problems with oviedo being used in midfield.

Its a squad game, get Oviedo the minutes so that when the summer comes he doesn't feel he has to move on in order to get games. Plus I agree, the experience will make him a better player.

Nice article mate. But...

Coleman? I assume you mean best left back?

I too feel a bit sorry for Bryan. I've served him quite a few times in work so y'know, we're defo on a first name basis now.... ahem.

Anyway, I think he'll have a hard time regaining a starting place in the team. I mean it'll be hard for him now even with Barkley and Deulofeu injured, never mind once they're back. As good as he's been there's just better left midfield options at the moment, I'm sure he'd been secretly hoping Baines would be leaving.

Cheers mate, I did mean left back yes!

I agree. However I think both are capable of playing there and doing a more than decent enough job if need be. With Mcgeady and Gerry to come in though as well as mirallas and pienaar we are looking the healthiest I've ever seen us in the wide positions which again is a shame for Bryan!

Anyone who follows Bry on twitter or has met him at the ground will know how much he loves being an Everton player. The guy is buzzing to be here and, for me, that means a lot. We've supported a lot of players over the years that didn't understand or appreciate what the club was about.

He'll play plenty of games. We'll need him this season and beyond. Clearly, European football would help the whole squad get more game time.

I like him. I liked him before this season, though.

When he got a rare chance under Moyes (v Norwich 2012/13) he was the best player on the pitch.

I'm not surprised everyone else is impressed this year.

Not to mention his bird is proper tidy too
