Comfortably Numb from Pulse, with 2 extra minutes of the solo which was cut out from the DVD/CD release lads. Btw the best guitar solo ever performed. David Gilmour is a guitar God.

Why would a producer cut 2 minutes of a Gilmour solo on a Pink Floyd DVD?

Saucerful of Secrets? Bizarre you don't like it.

Obscured by Clouds clearly their best work though.

haha, bizarre you aaar-haaa

Why do you like it? I love Set The Control To The Heart Of The Sun, one of the Floyd's strongest songs. Remember A Day is nice. But otherwise it's got a strong ratio of averageness and even rubbishness.

all in me 'umblest opinion, of course.

Obscured by Clouds is unusual in that it feels like standard early-70's folk-rock. Definitely bottom-half in the album rankings, saved by the beautiful final piece and a small handful of decent songs like Freefour, Stay and Mudmen.

If I'm ranking albums:

1. The Wall
2. Atom Heart Mother
3. Wish You Were Here
4. Dark Side of the Moon
5. Umma Gumma

I've often thought this, the sheer diversity of the tracks on that one is deffo not to be underestimated.

But Animals pips it for me, Gilmour's soaring solo's alongside Waters' bleak slashes of the pen and some chugging prog keyboards are components that are best described as shimmering shards of sepultural majesty.

Animals IS the masterpiece.

'When You're In' is perhaps the finest bass in all Floyd, if not music.

Just checking the Wiki page, Floyd used to open their live Dark Side Of The Moon concerts with When You're In, so clearly a band favourite too.
