Joel Robles

Mignolet made an error with Eto's goal last night. Did the same against City. Robles is decent, the more he plays the more people will notice that he is a good solid keeper. Cant judge him on 2 1/2 competitive games, He actually saved us once against Stevenage.

Not gonna dwell on the goal too much - it happens. There is no substitute for experience at this level. Rediculous to expect him to be the finished article or not make any mistakes at this stage, just that as a GK your mistakes are usually more open to scrutiny. If he gets a run in the side then I'm sure we'll see him progress.

Could definitely come in and do a job for us, I feel. Beyond that, and if he is the long term successor to TH, I don't think Martinez or anyone can know.

Cracking post.

All goalies make mistakes. Believe it or not Howard has made a few.

Howard has made plenty of mistakes. Wasn't there a spell last year or the year before he made a howler for two games running?

Goalies make mistakes. They're human. They gain experience and get a bit better.

Big swerve, a bit of a deflection, lots of pace....i'm not blaming him too much. I thought he did pretty well overall. Big test against Stoke though. If he comes through against them, then there is every reason to believe he will do well for us

It wasn't a big swerve, but at any rate...Howard will be starting against Stoke.

Cant complain about his performance at all, maybe his distribution, but ill put that down to the pitch ;)
His closing down and making himself as big as possible was really something i liked yesterday, throwing himself into a few scrambles knowing he could get hurt, well in Joel lad.

Better performance and some decent saves, looked more assured yesterday than other games for me,he's made me nervous in other games but felt ok yesterday

I like him.

He makes some top saves and he's one of the best I've ever seen for making himself huge and being a brilliant sweeper keeper.

Unfortunately he makes the odd mistake or flaps a bit, but Howard was doing that up until the age of 32. He's young for a keeper and all but the world's most exceptional young keepers have these kind of problems. With more experience I seriously think he can become a top keeper for us.

He is a good shot stopper,he can look a little uncertain in what appear to be fairly straighforward situations, but hopefully this will come with experience but this may result in us conceding a few goals, that may cost us a few results. It's the price of bringing through young keepers.Just hope the crowd don't get on his back too much

Excellent back up keeper and when called upon does a decent job. Best back up we have had in years and has also brought the best out of Howard. All keepers make mistakes and Robles is no exception. If for a moment we can stop comparing our keepers to Big Nev or Nigel Martyn you may see we have decent keepers comparible to most in the Premier League
