We should be looking at approx +10 to +15 this season, Villa are going to score more than they concede and I think 4th, 5th and 6th is going to the wire.

Well I think 6th place and 7th place is going to have a big gap. I think Hull will fall away, maybe Man City may make a charge, but I think there is a decent gap between the top 6 (us included in that) and the rest.

That sounds right. I think villa have 5th in the bag and 6th place will go to us, Spurs or City (outside chance of Portsmouth). But we must be favourites. And 6th place will probably be a UEFA spot this season. Even 7th would probably see us walk in via the intertoto thingy. In other words, we really should be gearing for Europe again next year.

In December 2007, following the election of new UEFA president Michel Platini, it was announced that the Intertoto Cup would be abolished as of 2009. This was a part of a range of changes that were to be made to the UEFA Cup/Champions League System. Instead of teams qualifying for the Intertoto Cup they will now qualify directly for the Qualifying Stages of the UEFA Europa League, which will be expanded to four rounds to accommodate them.
