Everton aren’t any better, they’re just luckier

Unlucky to concede so many late goals last season? How about inviting it on by sitting in your 18 yard box for the last 20 mins of games when you can't defend crosses!

Well, Metro has nothing to do with it, neither does a "Journalist", it was written by "one of us", it's a piece by Royal Blue Mersey who write a regular blogpost on Metro's website

That the same one who wants Coleman as right sided midfielder and drop Mirallas?? Says it all..

Also out of all the new managers in the Premier League from the start of this season, how many have improved on what their predecessor did by this point.. Off hand I can only think of Martinez

If anything we have been more unlucky this season. With a bit of luck we would have won our first 3 games and could have got at least a draw against City.

Honestly, we have been a bit fortunate in parts. Excellent performances from Howard last week, resilience in the Chelsea game and brilliance from Baines have been twinned with a bit of good luck. We haven't hit top form at all yet. It will come but you require a little luck to have good seasons, whoever you are.
That's not to say our season has been totally shaped by good luck so far, we aren't Spurs. I'm happy to be a bit jammy while I wait for us to come good.

Just desperate stuff the writer comes over as one of the misguided remnants of the Moyes FC lobby

We are better without Moyes but so many theorists bluffed their way along with bollocky stats about why the end was nigh if Moyes went.

Looking idiotic is never nice but these people were wrong and fair play most put their hands up but this tool is a perfect representation of the one or two who simply can't cope.

I think thats a little bit harsh mate. We could all equally go on and poke fun at the idiots who said Moyes would never get a better job than Everton, then he subsequently landed the biggest job in world football (as I often said he would).

And yes, I think we've been luckier than last season. I thought last season, when I think of games like Fulham away and Newcastle at home we were particularly unlucky.

However, this should not detract away from a really good start that we have made this season. I was very sceptical about Martinez, but he's done a really excellent job, andI have to say, I am more confident of finishing in the top 4 under him, than I was under Moyes.

Agreed, can't argue with well researched facts and a thoughtfully delivered unbiased articulate article like that.
