Kone

I agree mate, but I do think Pienaar can be credited with our upsurge in attacking verve near the end. Kone played his part though, made a chance for himself just after the horror miss that was far more than Lukaku had managed in an hour.

That was really important for me. Having shanked a sitter against the post he fathomed another chance for himself moments later. I would love to see him bag a few in the derby to completely change the perception of him. He hasn't been great so far but he is far from useless.

i'm with you. he probably won't justify the price tag, but he has many aspects which will help us. we basically swapped him for anichebe, there's no arguing who's had the better career. nothing against vic like.

The chances he creates are superb mate, hitting the post on on Sat was an inch of a very good goal - its coming.

TBF, Naismith scored the equaliser in last season's Goodison derby but it didn't change the "peception" of him

But people want to give Kone a proper chance before writing him off.

That's why I said 'a few' :)

Naismith's a funny one. Not a very good natural footballer but he does have good awareness in the box and is a decent squad man. his goal against Chelsea was hugely important and the catalyst for our current form. I hope Kone can lift his level soon as he is capable as shown last season.

He plays in one of the world's best leagues

Indeed, but he wasn't a gamble on a free. Works hard but his touch and close control isn't great. He is a good squad man though in regards to he is as likely to bag the winner in a big game due to his knack of finding space in the box.

Kone just needs a goal though. Lukaku was poor at the weekend but he has already shown us what he can do.

Finding space in the box though.... Do you think that's a knack or a good footballing brain ?.. Do you think he gets lucky or oes he read a situation very quickly and react to it ? Football is a funny game.

Bit of everything. He has a good awareness of space in the box and can loose his marker, but some of his crossing and final ball play has been woeful. He is what he is. Cahill was the king of finding space and losing his marker at the key moment. It's a great skill to have. Jelavic has been denied space like when he first came and has struggled alarmingly. I hope Kone has the opposite impact to Jelavic, slow start and grows into the team and becomes important as the season progresses.

Kone just needs minutes, I was excited when i initially heard he was coming to us because i remember him as the guy that busted his hump to get levante into the top 5. I positive with a game or two he'll regain his top form.

Much, much, much more natural ability than Jelavic, has Kone. He needs time on the pitch, two chances the poor sod fluffs go the other way and he has made a brilliant start to his Everton career. He'll do fine.

Personally I think it's a great natural skill.... You can't teach somebody to create space that...it's a natural reaction to what's happening around him..... A decent touch and some composure at times wouldn't go a miss at times though

thought he was great when he came on against hull looked dangerous every time the ball came to him. Yes I know he missed a sitter but it happens to the best of us (me last week)
