According to physio room Gibson and Mirallas will be having late fitness tests and Pienaar is likely to be unavailable too. With Barry also out, if the worst comes to the worst we could be left with:

_________Howard
Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines
_____Heitinga McCarthy
Naismith __Barkley ____Osman
__________Lukaku

(Joel, Deulofeu, Oviedo, Jelavic, Kone, Stones, Gueye)

Will Pelligrini persist with Hart or opt for Pantillimon? Either way, we need to put their 'keeper under as much pressure as possible.

If that squad what what we had for Saturday, I'd much rather see osman in his more natural centre mid position and either Deulofeu or Ovideo start on the wing. A team with Heitinga in midfield is always going to lose, even to Man City.

Nice one that Chico.
Top pics. I'm sure I saw a record player.. In a car ? And an Asian lid in the St end.. I hope I'm correct on both..

Last minute, headed winner from a corner..

Just had a look on the bluemoon forum. Unbelievable how many often terms like 'punching above their weight' was used in reference to us. We have a very good team and squad and could very easily have picked up more points than we already have.

I think it'll be a great game but honestly think we'll have enough to beat them.

Starting Deulofeu would be a gamble too far for me. Pellegrini would probably look to overload on our left pushing back Baines and drawing across our centre midfield then look to switch quickly to the right where Coleman could easily be isolated one on one if Deulofeu isn't awake defensively. Add Osman or Heitinga to the centre midfield mix and potential for getting pulled out of shape for that to happen only increases.

I wonder if we could see Kone starting on the left if Mirallas is unavailable on Saturday. I'm not sure if i'd trust Deulofeu in this kind of game to be honest, think his best role is as a 'super-sub' at the moment.

Gibson showed his lack of sharpness against Fulham. If he fails his fitness test we could have a lightweight pairing of McCarthy and Osman in the middle against Yaya and Fernandinho. It hasn't been especially effective to date but Roberto has shown (against Real Madrid) that he isn't concerned about playing Heitinga in front of the back four.

Ossie seems to be a favourite of Martinez and he did play in a wider position in our last game.

Not a game for Deulofeu imo, as good as he is, possession will be absolutely crucial, and he has a tendency to not pass the ball as often as he should, that will kill us off imo, unless he scores like
