Fellaini ( from a belgian perspective )

Well, that where he had been playing when Cahill wasn't playing, but certainly not today. It was really frustrating, knowing his qualities, to see him put the brake on in the offensive plays. He's someone who's attracted by the goal, and he clearly wasn't allowed to today. I'm sure he is very frustrated too.

I think Moyes 's gonna have to make a choice : either Cahill or Marouane. And it seems like Cahill is a fan's favourite. But then again with Osman-Fellaini CM you just lack creativity. And Cahill-Marouane you lack defensive skills. Looks like a casting mistake from the management.

That's what I've said. Since our derby game (against Liverpool for the belgians) he was getting in the box. That continued and everyone saw what was his best position when he got that header against Man United, and against Bolton.

Then Moyes changes everything up.

I honestly think a Cahill-Fellaini midfield can work but with a defensive midfielder behind him. Fellaini wants to get in the box. We're changing how he plays.

He hasn't once played as defensive midfielder, his role has not changed since Cahill came into midfield.

Cahill and Fellaini both played box to box v Boro, they took turns at getting forward.

Today Cahill played outwide and Osman sat deep. Fellaini played further forward.

ok not all round , but hes a box to box ( very slowly:D) player who can tackle aswell as score.

He can't tackle, he's made more fouls than the majority of playrs in this League.

He's decent at alot of things but he has no standout strengths. I'd rather have one ball winner and one creative midfielder than two players who are decent at both but have no stand out strengths.

Good post.

Moyes OUT!!!

Bip in!!

Our problem is that we never bought an insurance policy when the Mutinho price just kept on climbing. We let guys like Gilberto and Boateng slip between our fingers. BTW: Boateng is playing pretty well over at Hull City.

Fellani isn't bad, I think you can see the talent. He's odd, I've never seen anybody like him. To be honest I wouldn't know how the hell to use him either. Given that we are probably going to hover around 7th-11th this year I guess we'll have time to expirment.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Fellani needs a player like Carsley behind him. I used to say that Cars was our MVP against teams below us in the table. Now, I'm beginning to think Cars was our best player last year period.

How's Gooch doing? I know for the national team he's probably our best scoring threat. I do mean that as a complement.

Two box to box players is one too much IMHO.
Again, Marouane needs someone type Iniesta-Pirlo around him. Both have creativity and defensive skills, but neither are box to box player.

We can't get that type of player though mate, it's simply out of our range. We have no money.

Fellaini is simply are hard player to accomadate as he needs the perfect midfielders next to him. Someone who can defend and create.

against arsenal he tackled and passed very well for 60 minutes (then he faded).

in fact i would say his 2 problems that stand out are his lack of pace and how he tires easily.

Did you see him get outpaced for a loose ball in the centre circle, quite late on? He had quite a few yards on the Wigan player, can't remember who it was, plus a HUGE advantage from the direction of the ball, and he didn't make it! I actually shouted "go on Marouane!" and Wigan were on the attack. Honestly, his speed at full tilt is pretty slow anyway, but he takes longer to get going than a Morris Minor. I actually couldn't believe it.

Thanx:D
Gooch is doing very well right now. When he came back from Newcastle you could tell he was dissapointed and it showed on the pitch. But since january he's been awesome. Unfortunately his contrat is running out at the end of the season and both Marseille and PSG want him.

Off course Iniesta and Pirlo are too expensive for pretty much anyone, but there certainly are players with the same profile who could be affordable by Everton. Defour is one of them. He's gonna leave at the end of the season for sure, and since your management seems to like to give big money away

Going to NUFC is a fullproof way to lose your confidence. I remember him getting hip checked into the front row by Darren Bent.

His weakness has always been defending against direct football. He's not a Prem defender. In any other league where there is a slow buildup and he has time to get his feet set he's ace.

going back to pip's initial point, howd u think this formation/team would suit marouane

Howard
Yobo Jagielka Lescott

Rodwell

Fellaini Cahill

Arteta Piennaar

Yakubu Saha

A 3-5-2 formation, would this perhaps suit him bip? obviously arteta and pienaar would be out wider but i cant seem to edit this post properly
