I agree with Cal, we have proven that we can play better than what we are doing now. The only progression is to be closer to top for in terms of points and performance while pulling ourselves away from the rest of the bunch. Right now we are not doing that at the moment and that is not progression in anyway.

Watch your reputation go into closet red with these idiots mate.

Out to get me imo, for some reason they cannot be negative.

No, your chatting [Poor language removed] when you think that gaining a top 10 finish would be progression, considering we finished 5th last year:(

Missing the point again. Its not progression compared to last year, of course it isn't.

But 3 top 10 finishes in a row is progression compared to our previous premierleague history when we never acheived that. You gonna try and argue that it isn't?

Its possible to progress in some ways (3 top 10 finishes) and regress in other (finish 5th one year than lower than 5th the next).

And mentioning the former is not "settling for second best" by being happy with the latter.

I can't say it any plainer than that.

Arsed, it's about moving forward.

Any lower then 5th would be deemed a failure by me.

I'd be happy with top 6 personally. 5th or 6th is a good season, I could settle for 7th if that got us a place in the Uefa cup.

Fair enough, why can't you just accept that others deem it as failure as well yet can see a positive in a 6th place finish even if its a small one instead of going off on one about Evertonians settling for second best when its clearly not the case.

Why do some fans view consilidation as a backward step ? I'd be more than happy if we manage to finish 6th at worst because it confirms solidity and genuine progression as a club. Given how other teams have developed since last season, Aston Villa for example, it would be a major achievement to replicate last season's league placing.Competition for european places is stronger than ever, yet i genuinely expect us to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

It's fair to say that no-one is particularily enjoying our brand of football at the moment, but flowing football oozes from confident players, and i firmly believe that performances like that are just around the corner as belief and confidence grows,so for now, last minute winners will do for me.

The majority of them do.

How do you know if snides on here are giving you a negative rep ? All this negative rep sounds very gay to me . Anyway i am just about to start drinking after being pulled from pillar to post by the bird shopping in Chester . I intend to get plastered but be in bed with enough time to sleep it off before the early start tomorrow . I predict 2-1 Everton but it will be a tight game with not much in it .

I like the cut of your jib comrade.
