Would you swap?

I don't want Arteta to leave but if you offered me a straight swap for a younger and potentially better Joao Moutinho it would be very hard to turn down.

At the end of the day it's about improving the quality of the squad if Arteta keeps feeding us the crap he's been serving lately then why not swap him for Moutinho?

I agree, i think the only players that would get a game for any of the top 4 clubs would be Yak, Areta and Cahill, MAYBE Lescott. Not that i dont think the rest are super duper. Cos i do, i love each and every1 of them, even Hibbert and Neville. Big kisses.

p.s is anybody else noticing a homo vibe from me today? Must watch this new film ive downloaded. Not sure what its about : Cheerleaders.XXX.DVDRip.WMV-WET

Docusoap prbs.

where did u download it from:D

I watched Moutinho a few times this season and he hasn't been impressive to be honest, for both Portugal and Sporting.

And anyway, he is not a direct replacement for Arteta. There different players. He's not as creative as Arteta for one nor does he plays on the flanks.

Neither did Arteta until Everton signed him.

Arteta has the attributes to play outwide though, Moutinho doesn't.

In 2007-08, with Leandro Romagnoli (another attacking midfielder) also in the starting eleven, Moutinho, more often than not, moved from his natural behind the forwards midfielder role to right midfielder, where he still managed to deliver impressive performances. During this season, Moutinho further established himself as somewhat of a club symbol, earning plaudits as one of the league's top players, with impressive regular and quality performances.

Sporting play a Diamond formation, the left and right sides of the diamond are still very central. You get far more space in Portugal anyway, it's a completely different story in England.

Moutinho could do a job outwide but his future is not in that position nor does he have the right attributes to play there in my opinion. It would be like having an upgrade of Osman outwide, that wouldn't be great at all.

He's a centre midfielder, it would be plain stupidity if Moyes bought him and moved him onto the right wing. It's like Man utd putting Paul Scholes outwide.
