Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

It's ok lads...I am sure that it will be a cash plus player deal.

£20 million plus Rooney would be nice. However, Bill will probably agree to £28 million plus Phil Neville's return to our midfield.

On reflection, I think that it is time that Bill just told Moyes to p**s off....we want nothing further to do with the man and he is now happily doing his best to unsettle our players and the whole club in the same way that he used to moan that Man City etc were doing to us in the past.

For one thing, they´re contracted to us, so EVERTON decide wether they´re "off" or not.

Also, if there is a gap between us and or Arsenal, why on earth would we widen it further by selling them a coveted asset?

So what do you think should happen and what will happen mate?

I think many of the posters you are responding to are simply resigned that the boys will leave, sooner or later.

I hope Everton's admirable stance on former managers respecting player valuations remains the case if/when they look to replace Fellaini.

And club loyalty, being an Evertonian etc doesn't either? Face it, this is a test to see which manager the players will rather play for. Time for Roberto to step up! Tell United we won't be dealing with them anymore.

You're obviously not old enough to remember Rooney - get on google pronto and get informed - but the short answer is NO! it means eff all.

Completely lost any remaining nugget of Respect for Moyes.
Granted, he may not deal directly with the financial side of transfers, but he must have a general idea into what's going on.
After the Lescott saga and comments such as "Everton players don't come cheap" the guy has lost the 'intergrity' tag the media have been bumming him with for years.

Just to play devils advocate, could this be a masterstroke by Everton? The release of this information is not the usual way we would go about transfer dealings, we normally say nothing until the deal is done, both with outgoing and incoming deals. By releasing this story, it's almost as if we are embarrasing Utd and their strategy, with the entire media now questioning their tactics, both price wise, and morality wise. Release when it was actually bid, and how angry we are at it happeing, its kind of saying, "We aren't scared of you, pay the price, or get nothing". I personally think that their actions have strengthened our position.

IMO, they will both go, but we will get closer to £43m for them both.

I think most people would say Rooney was a bit of a scumbag. Two transfer requests at united kind of sums that up. But Jagielka, Baines, Osman, Hibbert, etc have all remained very loyal.

But is it really Moyes who sets the bidding prices?......surely he just names the targets and the board do the rest...

It beggars belief that when Moyes is telling the board which players he wants that prices aren't discussed.

Moyes would have had full knowledfge of the bid and would have had some input into nit given his intimate knowledge of the player's contracts and EFC's financial position.

It's a risky strategy, but could work well. United are under pressure to buy, and this kind of shows them up a bit. I am hoping we are confident on keeping both players. While both players may want to go (particularly Fellaini) I hope they can understand that we just can't sell at the prices that have been bid.

Moyes and the Equalizer ( Edward Woodward ) or whatever there chief execs name is need to be careful now. For us as a club we find there bid laughable, the problem for them is they are both new in the job and so far this summer their transfer dealings have been nothing short of shambolic. Man united fans are getting restless and will not like the club looking like a laughing stock with the **** that they are trying to pull. Sooner rather than later, Moyes will lose the good grace he has been given and it will become an even harder task to replace Ferguson without the fans on his side.

If I was Moyes I think I would bite the bullet and pay the 40m we want to at least get the transfers over the line, otherwise it could be a restless few weeks/months for the new Man U manager.

Yep, I agree with this totally. I think our stance has been strengthened now this info is out there. Utd's next offer has to be considerably more than the first one. Personally, I hope a second offer doesn't come.
