Shane Duffy

his lack of recent progress is solely down to moyes. hes should've either been sold, loaned out or given games. moyes done none of them.

Or he ain't good enough. What I've seen in the last couple of preseasons, he has poor distribution and lacks paced. Good in the air though

Good luck to Shane, hopefully this loan has a similar effect as Coleman's to Blackpool. Seamus came back a different player and has pushed on up to another level since then.

I'm not saying he's the new Maldini but I think he's showed promise in his few appearances so far.

“@Jameswefc83: @ShaneDuffy34 Do you think you will ever be given a chance at Everton mate ??” Haha don't look like it lol

He is right though.

He's obviously not good enough otherwise he would. Reason Stones has been playing is because he's obviously shown Martinez something, clearly Duffy hasn't.

cant believe how badly weve messed up this lads developement, such a shame i really rated the lad and i know i werent the only one

You ever thought....We ain't messed anything up and he's just not good enough??

We only had inc Duffy 4 CB last season. Couldn't let him out on loan. Has it stunted the lads career? Yes I'd say so, has it cost us a a first team CB? I'd say No tbh.

This ffs.

People saw him play a handful of games and he's been hyped ridiculously ever since.

I think he should have been allowed out on loan for at least a couple of months last season. A bit like Velios, I think he stagnated last season and won't learn anything here from another season in the U21s. He needs more first team football and to get that with Leicester in the Championship seems a good option for him.

Ultimately I think he will be too slow and not comfortable enough on the ball for Martinez. He's always seemed to be your typical gutsy centre half - good in the air and brave but not someone who will distribute from the back - and a move would probably be best for all concerned.

A handful of games where he did nothing to suggest he'd be much more than a run of the mill centre half either. Yet people were calling for him to stay in the team ahead of seasoned internationals...

The obsession with youth among supporters is taken far too over the top. If you're good enough you'll get your chance.

Pretty sad when you think all the money and time that goes into the youth and we couldn't bring up one player to sub Heitinga/Neville/Saha/etc. every once in a while when they were playing badly with no end in sight to their form. Might as well shut the academy down.

The fact is you're good enough if you've got experience.
