I'm paying £87 a month for the full XL package, sky sports, 20 meg broadband and some phone deal.

Yeah i know, i'm being ripped off but never get round to phoning up and making it cheaper cause i'm sure they'll lower that a fair bit if i threaten to leave.

We told them to cancel it and they knocked £8 off a month or something like that, not a fortune but worth a phone call.

So will there be rules to stop the ITV digital deal happening again? Who flopped with Setanta? And what seems the likely next move by SKY to make the BT package less appealing?
Regardless, every cent out of Murdoch's pocket is a godsend.

Just got off the phone with VM to find out when my contract ends ( Nov 2013 ). Proceeded to tell them that I have no intention of renewing my services with them. They tried to offer me enhancements but I was aware that would tie me into contract, so I politely declined. She then went on to tell me that they (VM ) expect to make an announcement regarding BT Sport and Sky Atlantic in the next few days.

Nice spiel, but I'm still binning them.

That sky Atlantic pitch is bull****.

Lying bastards they are.

You should ring them mate, look up a few other deals with rivals and remember some basic details of those deals, then ring them and vaguely quotes bits of other deals and tell them you're off, got my mum to do that with Virgin recently and it dropped her bill by about a third for 12 months.

Yeah i've been meaning too for ages but can never be arsed! Ive read a few people saying they got good deals by threatening to leave.

Maybe one day lol.

I've seen a few people on Digital Spy that think that VM will include BT sports as part of the XL package, basically a free replacement for ESPN.

Obviously that's a steaming pile of Downing, but even if turned out to be true, I'm still leaving. Sick of VM.

Annoyingly, you can only get it on one sky box per subscription at the moment, so if you have Sky Multiroom you can choose to have it on one box only or pay an extra £15 for another subscription

Currently trying to get them to switch it to the box with SKY+ at the moment. Might not take effect till tomorrow

Real pain in the knackers this

Yeah I noticed that, it's a bit crafty because I'd imagine people assume that when they purchase extra channels they'll be added to the actual Sky account and not just one sky box.

Virgin aye.... bet them barstewards give gammon to muslim kids too....sick.

VM loses ESPN , and then announces that Sesame Street is now part of the XL package.

When one door shuts...

Paying sky for a sports package, and now losing sports channels but paying the same price, think its time to try and haggle with them, most likely get nowhere.
