Bob Carolgees was a youth team player with Aston Villa back in the early 60s. Was a very promising winger apparently.

If I remember correctly Chris Woodger who played Terry in Byker Grove was at Newcastle United for a year or two.

Lee had been an impressive footballer, even having trials for Wimbledon FC, but his life took a different course after he was asked to audition for a school production of Grease.

That's a damn interesting call. He had a long and successful career as a footballer, winning the FA Cup, and being capped for Wales. I'd say he's more famous for being a footballer in the UK, but probably more famous for being an actor around the world.
