Louis Saha set to start

It'll be very dissapointing if the grounds half empty, very very dissapointing.

No doubt the Man utd will have alot of fans in our end, they usually do.
Last night I phoned around my mates without season tickets to see IF they wanted to come to the game with me(I was not trying to sell it it was free) and to my surprise I got to the third choice on the list before it went.(to be honest I would have offered it to Kel first but he had commitments )they mates I'm talking about are fair weather fans but not wanting to go for free shocked me(maybe its putting up with me that puts them off:lol::lol:)

Yakubu has been a disgrace in the past few weeks, without question.

I personally rate Saha more then Yak anyway, always thought Saha has been a top, top player. Yak is a class player but he doesn't have the work rate to really damage the top 4 in a 4-5-1.

The ground wont be half empty. I recon near to capacity tomorrow.
Me seat will be empty tho. I dont finish work till about 1. We need a good atmosphere and plenty of support behind those players of ours that wear the blue shirt. We can do this (y)

I find the Yakubu slagging to be a bit interesting.

Why?

I rate Yakubu's current form as roughly on par with the rest of the squad. Yes he's gone a bit stale lately (a good description I might add) but I don't think the overall form of the squad has done him any favors.

It's not like he's missing chance after chance. I could understand if we were doing well in all areas of the park with Yakubu being the exception.

Now, with that being said, I think that starting Saha makes sense and it wouldn't hurt to give Yakubu a rest. I'm also for starting both of them together and going 4-4-2 but I'm guessing Moyes won't do that.

If Moyes comes out and plays a 4-5-1 at home then it will be tantamount to handing the 3 points on a plate to the manure. I think the only striker we have at present who could play as a lone striker is Anichebe, because he is strong, can put it about and has enthusiasm for it unlike a certain other Nigerian. That player I believe from recent games you could describe him as the lone stinker, but to be fair he has not exactly had the support or chances created after all he was obtained as a goal scorer. So we should look to the system played by Moyes. That system killed off BT and then AJ is the Yak next in line. So IMO put out Saha and Anichebe to start.

Hes not getting any chances! He has always been lazy, but no one really cared as long as he got some goals...but no that hes not getting any goals - or any shots to be quite honest, i think its time to start another striker - se if he does any better. Having said that, i think as soon as Yakubu gets a goal he will start banging them in again

You know, I almost typed that. That "he's not getting any chances" but is that more down to the Yak or to those who are supposed to be getting the ball to him? Hard to create chances when we can't keep possession. I understand it's a combination of the two but which is more to blame.

I wouldn't say Yak is lazy but running around the pitch (like AJ) isn't, wasn't, and never will be his game.

Yakubu is our best and most important player by quite a distance to be honest, I have no doubts about that. He'll be back in the team soon enough.

But at times during the season he does have his patches and it wouldn't do us any harm in freshing it up and giving someone like Saha a chance. I have faith in Saha, I think he could be a good player for us.

One thing we'll have to see is if he can hold the ball up as well as Yakubu, that's something alot of fans seem to overlook when it comes to Yakubu. He does get hold of things in the final third and link play, it's a key point to our 4-5-1 system.

If Saha can do that we'll be fine, it'll be needed. Anichebe and Vaughan may have the enthusiasm and physical attributes to play upfront on there own but they lack the hold up play and technique to bring the midfielders into the game.

Its not him not getting supplied well from midfield thats the problem. Its not him having a low work rate thats the problem.

Its him having such a low workrate he cant even be bothered to look like he gives a [Poor language removed]. Its him falling over when a goalscoring opportunity could of come his way. Its him giving the ball away through sloppy passes and attemtping to dribble out of defence which leads to us conceding goals which is the problem. Its him having the shooting skills of a 1 legged blind man as of late which is the problem.

On his day he is by far our best striker. Fair enough he isn't going to produce the goods every match and will go through poor spells.

But his current poor spell has lasted since he last scored (Stoke game i think) and for the reasons above (and because it seems that benching him for a bit makes him come back more enthusiastic) means he should be dropped for a few games starting with Man U.

Now you could say dropping your best striker when you play the best team is madness but i dont think it is. We aren't exactly going to create [Poor language removed] loads of chances against Man U so i think it will be best to start with Vaughan up front with Saha because Vaughan has the ability to put the ball in the net plus he will work hard and chase their defence and will have the enthusiasm which will inspire us and put fear into them. Hopefully.

If Saha can do that we'll be fine, it'll be needed.

For some reason the main image that comes up about Saha in my head is him jumping well high and doing midair chest control, with a look on his face like the ball stinks. Is he not well good at that, or have I just made it up?

COME ON LOUIS.

I'd go for Saha and Vaughan up front.

If we go for the 4-5-1 then inevitably end up getting beat like we do against the top four sides. If we play 4-4-2 then we'll still probably get beat but what the [Poor language removed], lets put it up them a bit and see if we can rattle them. We wont like but at least we've had a go which is different to what we usually do.

I'm not sure to be honest. Against Newcastle he kept turning and trying to run at defenders, eventually losing the ball.

That's just one game though, he kept laying it off and running into space against Liege from what I remember. He's technically gifted and has a good first touch, I'm sure he could do it.

I think your talking about this, very classy.(y)

Saha & Vaughan or Saha & Yakubu works for me.

I just want to see two up front from the off. That might instill some confidence in the players and more importantly, in the attending supporters when they see that Moyes isn't playing cautious against arguably the best team in England.

Who would you drop in midfield?
