I think in my non educated cricket head id just want to know what I was aiming for with the bat rather than setting the target which can, and is, going badly tits up.

But hey, what do I know?!

When the weather is like this it's normally harder to bat second as the pitch deteriorates so the ball doesn't come onto the bat as easily, meaning it's harder to get your timing

Although if England keep going at this rate then it won't make much difference
 


Can't overturn the decision on the strength of that can he? Needs to be overwhelming evidence of a wrong on-field decision doesn't it?

Yeah, if the umpire gives the decision there has to be definite proof that he made the wrong decision. That's why on hawkeye, even if the ball clips the stumps it goes down as umpires call
