Leighton Baines

What LCAB is saying makes absolutely no sense to me at all. If Baines signs a new contract, his intention is to clearly stay at Everton so the board will surely knock back any bid, and i mean any. Plus, if he signed a 5yr deal, his value goes even higher because he has longer on his contract.

champs league and some medals is not the mark of a player, never has been, look at the no marks who have landed to fill a gap at a club who were always going to win something.. will they remembered more than Baines?? What about players like Le Tissier, still legends and achieved a lot less than Baines. Didn't Mirallas arrive here from a team playing in the champs league. Most good players still want to make an impact not just collect something for the stats. I think maybe some fans are obsessed with these stats themselves and project it onto players. Don't see any sign he is going anywhere and I will find a way to give the lad a hug when he proves there is something more important than the CL circus

i dont think utd board would sanction 20 mill for baines...

moyes will be under pressure already and any substantial bid for an everton player would heap a whole load more on him when it will be very hard to measure any real impact Baines has had for them. he won't get the freedom he does here and will have prob more sh*t than Rooney did when he went there with every defensive flaw jumped on. makes no sense for anyone. really think that this is mainly the media just being lazy and dismissive of everton's prospects. the only thing I am going to read about Baines for the rest of the season is his name on the team sheet at Goodison

Not sure what a new contract has to do with anything to be honest. Pretty obvious that every player has a price...in baines case its probably 18-20mil.

Everton would me mad to turn it down and the only way he would stay is due to his love for the club.

Moyes would not have made a bid if he hadnt spoken to baines-- reckon he'll be gone for 18+.

when does anything he says make sense?

@StDomingos1878 @THT1878 @FourthOfficial_ It won't matter if He signs a 20 yr deal , Lid Just means he gets paid more till Utd rtn with £20m

To an extent that's true, but if he signs a new deal he will stay atleast another year, but then will United come back in for a 29 yr old FB?. Cos even in a years time, we will still want top dollar for him i'd imagine, ok, not £20m but £15m or more at his age!.

He's saying that if he signs this window then it won't matter because he'll still leave this window.

Which is blatant, absolute nonsense. Just reading his timeline, people have called him out on the nonsense too, which is good to see.

The 'all knowing' LCAB is covering every angle here.....he's signing/ he's going...so if either happens we will see the inevitable 'I ToLD YoUZzE' tweet

Its unheard of for a player to sign a new 5 year deal then be sold within a month, which is effectively what LCAB is saying would happen. Has that ever happened in football? Imagine Luke Shaw (after just signing a 5 yr deal) being sold next week, there would be chaos. I know he's normally not far off with his info but that is way off the mark.

I'm quietly confident that United aren't ever going to offer what he is worth to us. Baines is unlikely to rock the boat or try and get the club short changed on any deal. I could be completely wrong of course, but i just see him here next season.

That's what he said though. He signs, means he'll stay and get paid more. But that won't stop United coming in again next season.

All it will do is make the fee more than the fee touted at the moment.

Next season we'd be lucky to get 20mill for him due to his age. The length of contract will make the fee higher. But it won't stop him from going. Contracts mean nothing.

While I know ****ging off the likes of LCAB is the default setting of late, he has said all along that this was his opinion, not that he knew anything specific, and that regardless of whether Baines does or doesn't sign a contract, MU will eventually sell Rooney and make Everton a big enough offer that they have to accept.

Will they though?? I just can't see the MU board agreeing to use 20+ mil £ for a LB whose getting up there in age. Moyes may have his say, but from at board pov, it just doesn't seem like that good business. (my opinion).
