Baines = 18mill
Fellaini = 20+mill
Barkley =15+mill
Coleman =10+mill
Mirallas =10+mill

I think we've plenty of sellable assets to not worry about the age of the squad or players for resale.

would only have him if we flogged jela and brought a top class striker in alongside him, if he is our main ST then im gutted

Im not really ars*d about how much he cost or what age he is, If he's good enough. I'll let others worrie about that I just wanna see a boss team.

Thought he was ok for Wigan from what I seen of him but if were going to get European places I think he'll have to up his game a bit,maybe this will come from having better players around him.

In 13 years he's scored 113 goals,hardly prolific but he does seem to gets goals.

Can't be any worse than what we have.

Lets get behind him.

If this does go through then at least its a signing, we need some squad depth there and we can't say Jelavic has been sparkling recently and Victor isn't a reliable finisher. Its difficult getting players for fees and wages that are reasonable, realism has to set in sometime. All players are overpriced nowadays. Although if you just thought like that your name would be Bill Kenwright!

But naturally since Martinez is the new guy he's been handed some money to work with but would have to work within some constraints. Which means you either go abroad or try to utilise whatever connections you have with players in the English game and that's what he's doing.

This is the kind of signing that Moyes probably wouldn't have done. Depending on your outlook, you can take that either way but we have to take a chance on things sometimes and Martinez is the boss and its his say. Give him a chance.

My only reservation is that my girlfriend keeps going on about how Kone's haircut makes him look like an old woman!

Extremely disappointing signing. 5m (which is about as high as we go in the transfer market) on a limited 29 year old with no resale value who doesn't finish as well as Jelavic or offer the same physical threat as Anichebe.

Jelavic scored 8 goals last season whereas Kone scored 13 in a much poorer team. Where do you get the idea that Jelavic is a better finisher than Kone mate?

Eh? We've spent over that plenty of times. Chelsea bought Chris Sutton for double that amount 15 years ago.
...Ok so its not the bossest transfer ever but its not much for a striker is all I'm saying.

Given last season, he's not as bad as Jelavic in finishing.

Way off mate. IMO he is a physical threat as well as a better finisher than Jelavic (Last season) so we are getting the best of both worlds there. As well as he is faster than both Jelavic and Anichebe

Slightly off topic, but I reckon Martinez will get Jelavic firing again. Kone, if confirmed, is a decent if unspectacular addition to the squad. If Jelavic can double last years league goals, and Kone weighs in with his 1 in 3 ratio, thats 20 ish more goals maybe.

Lets see.
