Would have preferred us to go for McManaman or McCarthy.

Didn't think it would be that much for Kone (£5m).

Valued at £7M last time I looked and on his way to Sunderland, apparently.

Decent player from what we've seen but he has only played a handful of games.

MAURO BOSELLI

His style of play has been described by Roberto Martínez as "a clever player and natural finisher ... who can create havoc in the penalty area."

On 29 June 2010, Boselli signed a four-year deal with Wigan Athletic for a fee believed to be around £6.5 million. In March 2012, Wigan fans voted Boselli as the club's worst ever foreigner

Director of Football anyone?

Like Alcaraz, we should only be signing players like Kone on a free.
5mil!!??

Kenwright must be nervous.

The season before Boselli went to Wigan he scored 32 goals. Why wouldn't you want that?!

In fact £6.5m for him was probably a good price at the time.

Only in hindsight does it became a terrible transfer.

Transfers are always subjective, some fans will be pleased with them, others not so much. The amount of bickering about this Kone deal is ridiculous though.

I'l personally be underwhelmed if we spent £5 million on him but I don't really see any point in ****ging off fellow blues who would be pleased if we got him at that price. It looks like he'l sign for us and love nothing better than him to slot 20 odd goals next season for us, time will tell.

Well in reality it became a terrible transfer too.

But as its been said every manager makes duds, Kone has been good under Martinez. He took the piss out of us.

Not really that type of striker though. He'll get goals but he'll also, hopefully, bring those around him goals too. If he gets what he did last season and provides others with assists we can say we got a decent deal here.
