Probably get RS home around match 6 or 7.. Just in case Suarez is still about. The RS will have requested a home game for 7th September to celebrate Shankly's Centenary - although maybe it is an England WC weekend.. Anyway that will be a couple of weeks before the Derby.

United always get promoted sides because they normally win the league. Can't be bothered finding this but I'm sure I read that the champions vs a promoted team first game is one of those fixed things they do. Away I think as well?

City played newly promoted Southampton first game last season so you could be right.

maybe its just a p*ss easy home game for the champions against a poor team who will roll over, just happens to normally be a promoted side... I stand by Man U home to Liverpool

So with the fact clubs can request certain fixture dates, and the PL look for cetain fixtures at certain times etc....

my guess is that key ones are placed in, then the rest come out randomly. they always claimed it was random and yet many years ago it was assumed that you would tend to get local teams over xmas. problem would only be if there was a bias. you remember the draw before the champs league knockout game.. seemed to be such common knowledge that this 'random' draw would probably throw up Liverpool. Even Moyes must have known it and said something to that effect. still believe there was quick change of mind and we get the best team in at that stage instead. then Ferguson scores and they realise they have to be even more blatent.

Leaks going around of Liverpool's first 3 fixtures. Apparently they've got Hull, Fulham then us away. Not sure how reliable it is, just floating about twitter at the minute. Can't see them making the first derby that early in the season.

The championship have released their 1st day fixtures and to celebrate the 150th anniversary they have paired some of the founder members together. If prem follow suit we might get Villa ??

Apparently it's Swansea if twitter is anything to go by. A lot of people claiming a 'leak'. Obviously, nothing certain though.
