Confirmed: Martinez New Everton Manager - All Reaction Here

Lots of positive talk, as we've seen in the week he's been here too. The thing that worries me is that he's put a lot of faith and belief into some absolute cud players there. Hindsight allows us to evaluate them and they haven't done well.

He was talking about establishing Wigan in the top eight but it didn't exactly work out that way.

Obviously that's being critical so hopefully with better players and three more years experience as a manager he will have picked up a trick or two. Spotting, purchasing then developing a good player will be crucial to how he succeeds here.

Well the constraints that he had to work under, he has no choice but to put faith in less than accomplished players. He had no problem calling out big time charlies for their **** - Olivier Kapo, Jason Koumas and others - and he is highly critical of Steve Bruce's 'big name, big wages, 30+' type signings. He seems to have the same eye for a good player that Moyes did, and mentions the frustration of missing out on them (De Gea for one). He doesn't come across as a soft touch to me, anything but - he goes on about being happy that Caldwell was shouting and moaning at people because it was the level of passion he wanted.

And Goat you'd never get Vitor coming out with something this informative in Portuguese never mind English. That ship has sailed - all the way up the Persian Gulf. He's in some backwater Arab country working for oil money. [Poor language removed] him.

Hes talking about tosh Wigan players.

Anyway, the upcoming transfer window will tell me everything I need to know about Martinez. Your move Roberto lid.

Yeah but you can read alot into it mate. Think of it like one of those f**king stupid CV things - transferable skills. It makes my skin crawl but it seems finally appropriate. Anyway, just feels like you can get alot out of what hes saying even though it's all about Wigan. He obviously had a really hard time clearing out the ****e - much like Moyes. He never really got it sorted because the good players he brought in - Moses and so on - or the good players he had, of the ones he could even convince to go to Wigan (not easy), like N'Zogbia, Cattermole e.t.c kept getting sold. So Moyes has really done him a massive favour by leaving a stellar squad of excellent professionals who are (were) in great shape. Beyond keeping our team and adding one or two more it's all about tactics from here on out. It then depends on whether you believe he is talented or talentless. Is he the man who won Wigan their first ever FA Cup, or the one who gave them their first ever top flight relegation?
Well obviously, he's both. But I think Wigan made him both... whereas Everton he has many more tools (not all) to make sure its only the former.

Sharp 2 weeks ago: "he only win 6 games a season"

Sharp today: "There’s been accusations that his Wigan team leaked too many goals, but when you look at them last year, they had a lot of injuries in the centre-back positions which didn’t help him. He’s now coming to a club that have a sound back-four and a sound goalkeeper, so hopefully that won’t be the problem area for him.”

Least said, soonest mended, eh Graeme?

Didn't he say something like he only won around 16 games over 4 seasons. Worse then 6 games a season.

Graham Sharp a EFC legend but as a manager ask the Bangor fc fans - he should stick to what he knows and what is his role at the club? He never said a bad word about DM when things were poor on city so get on with his own job imo!

I still stand by my reaction to Martinez being the new manager notwithstanding all the negative reps I have been given, (chicken**** idea anyway)for speaking my mind. Is free speech not allowed on here? Do not recall ****ging any members off or swearing. As far as football is concerned Martinez has a losing rather than a winning streak and I still believe the club should have gone for VP. However Martinez is the manager so time will tell.

I still accuse Bull**** Billy of lying though, where were all the other candidates? did they actually exist? Was this just another BB whitewash as in the case of talking to 3 investors

To answer your questions: no, don't know, probably and doubt it.
