Fellaini

Bill Kenwright is telling local and national journos that there is a fixed fee in the clause for Fellaini. So somebody's lying.

did he though? when you watch it back he's on about dave whelan telling martinez he is welcome to take his players but Kenwright then said thats not the case here and said one player's release clause aside no one is for sale, that to me suggests that clubs cant simply open talks with our top players but they can with felli as his clause enables it thats what I reckon it will be

If Chelsea match this buyout clause (which I can't see being much less than £25m minimum) we might try and get one of their amazing young players who'll never play for them in return. Lukaku is unlikely after his boss season at west brom but De Bruyne could be possible and he's Belgian & everything.

HIYA LADS DOES ANYONE KNOW IF FELLAINI HAS A RELEASE CLAUSE

ALSO, HOW MUCH IT MIGHT BE, NOT SURE ANYONE HAS SAID

Source? He's mentioned there being a clause but hasn't talked about a fee. Altogether it sounds like a 'get out of jail' ploy by Bill to me. He can sell Fellaini for as much as he can get and say "my hands were tied because they triggered the release clause". He's brought it up a couple of times already with his 'you might take our Fellaini but you'll never have our Baines' quips. It sounds like he's trying to soften us up.

I can't see him going to Arsenal though. They're pretty well set with Wilshere, Cazorla and Arteta in the middle. It surprises me that City would rather buy Garcia, Rodwell and Fernandinho so they really mustn't fancy him, which is a shame. Chelsea are pretty well-stocked in midfield with Lampard, Ramires, Oscar and Mikel plus David Luiz and the returning Essien. Unless he goes abroad United would seem to be his most-likely destination. Thankfully there is a premium with selling to Man U.

The latter is Andy Hunter, who has strong links within the club.

Just testing you! I remember BK saying something similar on video earlier in the season tbh. I think I'm more inclined to believe Fellaini because the club has shown on quite a few occasions that it will pass the buck to players so that they can take the wrath of the fans and deflect heat away from the board.

Everyone is quoting stuff that they have read.

Has anyone ever seen the lad's face when they mention Everton to him?

He goes all doey eyed and says things like "Everton is my destiny" because he absolutely loves it here.

He will only leave if we tell him we don't want him.

Chill people.

Bill's basically just done that by advertising his availability.

It is being widely rumoured that Arsenal have become the first club to activate Marouane Fellaini‘s release clause.
Bill Kenwright stated in the press conference unveiling Roberto Martinez that only one player had such a clause,it has been long assumed that Fellaini is that player. The exact figure that would activate such a clause has been the cause of much conjecture with amounts from 15 million to 25 million plus being quoted.
Although Fellaini has often reiterated that he is happy at Everton Football Club he has also made no secret of his desire to play at the highest level. The lure of Champion’s League football may prove too great for the midfielder as it did for former Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta.

No he didn't? When did he say Fellaini had a fixed fee? He said there is a player with a buy out clause, he didn't mention any names.

Imo I don't think there is a set fee.

I think there's some sort of escape clause for CL teams coming in for him, with a acceptable fee being agreed with the club.

25M would have to be a bare minimum we'd surely want for fellaini. Looking at what modric went for I'd be gutted if fellaini didn't get at least 25M....but tbh I'd be hoping for closer to 30M. He's such an unique talent!

Ffs lads haha, Fellaini himself said there isn't a fixed fee. NO ONE has said there is.

I don't know how these things work, but why would you fix the fee in a release clause? It wouldn't make any difference to the player and surely it would tie the clubs hands behind it's back in negotiating a fee.

De Bruyne would be a huge upgrade on Fellaini. I'd love a player + cash deal there.
