I disagree with this, Seamus has been one of our better players for the last 6 months. I think he has the position nailed down

Yeah Seamus has been my favourite player along with Mirallas for the last six months or so. Should start every game unless unfit.

Just got MOTM against England as well so he's even cutting it on the international scene (I know it's just a friendly but still great for the lad!)

Don't disagree that he hasn't been one of our better players. I will correct my statement to state that over the past 6 months, his form has been consistent. All being well, he will naturally start there next season, and thats where he should be. I just think if there are departures from midfield, which is possible, and we don't sign anyone, which is also possible, then he could find himself having to shore up the right side. As others who have played there may need to move back inside to cover.

I think Lundstram's got a chance as well, could cover Hitzlsperger's place in the squad with Barclay getting Nev's game time.

Never seen Stones play but by all reports he will be boss. Duffy looked good when he played but if he doesnt play this season he officially goes from "promising" to "not good enough" and gets sold to Tranmere.

Barkley is clearly the best bet, don't talk to me about Junior - never going to get within a sniff of the first team

Saddened to hear you think this

I think he's got great potential

I know it was only Morecambe, but he looked great in pre-season. "Star for the future" great not just "having a good pre-season game" great

He looked proper ****e vs Leeds though, so maybe League 2 is his level fella.

Junior is shorter than even Juninho though. I don't actually think there's a midfielder currently in any of the big European leagues as short as Junior is.

Surely as a mid fielder though, size is the least important attribute?

I can understand a short CB or CF getting odd looks, but his most important skill will be his speed and ball skills.

I dunno, I just don't think the fact he's short means he can't be a sucessful mid fielder

Good enough or not good enough, world class at 18, absolutely awful or good young prospect.

Either way hopefully under whoever the new manager is some will get given a chance in the first team when members of the small but experienced squad aren't in form.

Obviously its the young prospects who didn't get a chance under Moyes unless he had more or less no other choice. Now maybe they'll get a chance, if they don't do well enough during that actual proper chance (rather than 1 10 min appearance) let them go, if they do do well during whatever chance they get reward them, don't put them back on the bench permantly.
