CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

Zee German press have said it, so it's not something we've made up.

In fact the biggest thing was that the British press made up the rumour about Moyes to Schalke rather than it coming from the German press

More than likely he's not even been considered rather than it being his credentials

It's embarrassing listening to German pundits bat away the proposition that Moyes is a name to be considered in the Bundesliga. My toes were curling looking at the blank stares when it was put to a couple of them yesterday. He's so far from being a contender of any job abroad it's not funny. I felt the embarrassment more for Everton than Moyes, tbh.

I wouldn't mind Moyes staying if I knew he could do what he always says he's going to do and secure funds for team-building. But he wont, just as he hasn't in the past. He's a company man, safe in his position and hell sign up again with no assurances off the club that things will be any different than the previous 11 years. We all know that will happen.

There's going to be windmilling and crowing by some supporters who only see the good things about Moyes when he signs a new contract; there really wont be anything to celebrate though. It's a very respectable place we're at and will remain at under Moyes - and that'll do for many. But we wont move forward. Not one bit. This we also all know.

And the reason we wont move forward isnt down to Moyes.

Hes took us far as he can on a shoestring, to break the top 4 PROPERLY, we need top quality squad players and a little increase in quality all round.

The main thing we need is a top class Striker.

Apparently a new manager will come in and pull some money out of his arse

The money coming into this club is unreal. The money amongst board members is unreal. Do you feel Moyes is doing all he can to get funding? I dont. He's been there 11 years and has grumbled a lot but the owners of this club know he'll tow the line. He's good at making demands on players, not good at making demands on his employers.

He cant force the utter clowns in charge to give him money.

I mean im sure if Bill had it, I honestly think he would give it, when I say had it, I mean lets say he had as much as Earl.

I would assume Moyes only really talks to Bill, who lets face it, is a rich man, compared to me and you, but in the grand scale of things, hes badly skint.

Im sure hes asked for money, but when your Chairman says publically that he had to beg the banks not to shut us down, it would take some brass neck to DEMAND money from overseas board members who probably couldnt find Goodison on google maps.

I agree Kenwright would tip up if he had it. And Moyes is usually precise when he talks about having a great 'chairman' rather than great board. I'd like him to make that point more plain to be honest. I know Moyes briefs the Echo clowns to do his bidding for him and it's been interesting to see them pipe up on the subject in the last month or so (O'Keeffe and Prentice have done pieces on the silent owners who sit in the shadows scratching their arses).

It's not enough though. Moyes is safe as houses at Everton. He can afford to start rocking the boat to get cash from all the massive money getting sunk into EFC now from the tv deal for example.

As I say, I dont mind Moyes staying and I asckwledge his record and qualities, but if he stay on for another 3 years or so with nothing secured cash wise he's doing no one any favours other than his own bank account.

I don't think there's many managers in world football who'd demand money & the time/control he's afforded. Most would realise your lucky to get one or the other.

I suspect most would pick time as it gives them a decade of money.

Possibly yes. Most want time to prove they can do a job. He's done that though. Now he needs to press home and convert that kudos into cash. That's what pisses a lot of people off with Moyes: the nagging feeling he just cant bring himself to assert his authority. He's the most important individual at Everton in status terms. He has a duty to use that for the benefit of the team and its supporters.

If it's not there you can't have it. He knows the script. He had meetings with Green so he knows who pulls the strings.

I don't go for this selfless honest john persona some believe but I also think he's a decent fella who wouldn't risk bankrupting us through his own ego. Like all hired hands he will always put his interests into the equation.

Personally if he asked for money we haven't got, regardless of the reasons why we haven't got it, I'd want him telling to kindly Koff.

From what I've seen a few times he's happy to throw his weight around on various matters. Make of that what you will but I believe he gets what he wants - or at least he gets what he believes is realistically possible.

I take your point about the Echo stories of late.

Just supposing he threw his toys out the pram, the club was put into another 20mil of debt to give Moyes some money for a season in the hope we could do something ace, we fail because the other clubs carry on putting 30 or 40 in, we then have to sell 30mil of players to cover the extra debts arising from the gamble..
Would you applaud his endeavors in securing this money or find the obvious negative in dragging us into more debt?

He's spent just over £10M net in 11 years. There's a point when that type of prudence and 'getting on with it' by a manager tips over from being laudable to being unhelpful and counter-productive. We've well reached that point. I dont care how sensible he is, if it ultimately holds us back then it's not a virtue.

Anyway, he's let it be known through his media point men how he's looking to secure a change in his funding from the owners of Everton. Let's see how serious he's been in that respect if he re-signs. If he does re-sign and we're still at that stage of only being able to buy via sales, then we'll know it's all just been hot air and he's failed us all.

So basically Moyes has to demand from his EMPLOYERS that they give him millions of pounds, and then he has to go out and actually buy good players otherwise he's f***ed.

Yeah, i don't blame him for not doing that.
