pre agreed takeover

I've heard something quite similar to the OP.

The takeover will only happen if we win the league though. If we don't no takeover, Fellaini sold, Martinez as next manager with minimal funds to spend... So pretty much as you were... So to speak... If you know worra mean... Like.

I've also heard this about takeover being pre-agreed. Though I heard we have to finish in the CL places and its pending all our players passing end-of-season medicals to test for future injuries.

***hypothetically speaking**

Anyone else heard this? Moyes has been stalling for a new contract because of prearranged agreements already in place at EFC this season. Basically a big chunk of the future of EFC depends on our league finish this season.

1. we finish in the top 4.
Take over already agreed. Debt gets restructured. Moyes stays on. Kenwright stays on as honourary chairman. New owners are a consortium of North-West based business, however will allow us to keep hold of current players and add to the squad.

2. we finish outside the top 4.
Moyes goes, Kenwright stays but players sold to fund a new manager. Club looking to promote from within for new manager.

In a nutshell, a take over will happen if top4 happens, with BK staying on as a figurehead for the new consortium. Or BK stays if not.

What are people's thoughts on this?

*** disclaimer *** This is based on the hearsay of an agent who represents a product of the EFC academy.

That's Moyes gone now then

There is no way a takeover will depend on CL qualification only.It just might add a little to the price. We qualified for the CL before and didn't get through to the group stages.Does the takeover depend on that,or does it depend on getting through the group stages of the CL proper because that is when you start to earn real money.

A multi million business transaction will not depend on the outcome of one uncertain event.
The manager staying or leaving however may well depend on European qualification.

Yeah, what kind of buyer agrees to a deal only if the club is worth more than it is today (by acquiring CL revenues)? What kind of mentalist would think that's a good idea? And that would be guaranteed for only one year?

The idea that a takeover would occur if we finished 4th but not if we finished 5th is, quite frankly, insane.

I believe this thread is a load of tosh but I don't think it's insane.

Wasn't there pretty much a playoff for Roman Abramovich's money?

Last game of the 02-03 season with Chelsea V Liverpool... the winner would be in the CL the next year and it was widely reported that Abramovich would buy the whichever club won.

There was a load of hype surrounding the game and I rememeber Jesper Gronkjaer accidently scored from a cross and commentators and pundits were going on about how it was the most valuable goal of all time as it turned Chelsea into an uber rich team.

All I'll say is thank fu** for that.... that one goal stopped the ****e from becoming oil rich...
