Cahill must start against the shower of shoite. He knows how to rustle their jimmies and he's the perfect player to do it.

As long as he doesn't get booked in the first 10 minutes like.

Expecting a big performance from Tim on sat. Had a good game v Sunderland away and its almost last chance saloon for him and nev to win something.

That said I think we have better options than Tim nowadays. Leon and Pienaar showed the value of controlling the midfield with ball players yesterday. Maybe Tim can do the role similar to what Brian McClair did for ManU at the end of his career. ie very well respected squad player.

Should of been phased
out as a guaranteed starter start of 2010/2011 season.

A more creative intelligent footballer on the ball makes so much difference in that position.

Of course over the years Tim made that role his and deservedly so, hia goals, his workrate, his tenacity and his general pain in the assness for defenders made him worth being in the team.

But when he isn't being effective with those abilities the team struggles because you're basically playing a man light around the opponents goal.

He still has his uses and can still even start some games (Man U away for example) but at home and against most teams in the league that extra creativity and abilty on the ball other players will give us in that position mean he should not be playing unless he is at the top of his game.

Which he hasn't been at for 2 seasons now due to injuries and age catching up with him.

He's a legend and i love him but he can't play forever

This is spot on imo. However given his upturn in form this past couple of months with jelavic id want him starting the semi. But this should be his swan song imo. Should be phased out in the league over the remaining games and become a impact/squad player for next season.

Would rather a osman pienaar or barkley playing more often than not next year.

Tim can still offer alot next year but from the bench. Time for him to take the big dunc role

The team I would like to start against the RS bares no resemblence to the team that will start against the RS.
Tim Cahill will def start and if he gets booked in the first 10 minutes or so, will probably not get too involved afterwards incase of the 2nd yellow.
Hope he batters them with fair challenges and scores!

Could have scored 5 doing the same thing. He's still a machine in the air.

If only the rest of the national team cared as much as him...
