Why oh why do referees have their absolute worst performances:

1) When we're playing and

2) Most of the calls are against us.

Granted he denied City a dead certain penalty. I'm also probably in the minority in that Pienaar's second challenge was worthy of a yellow (which was his second). I wasn't too impressed with his first yellow to Pienaar though. Barry made a meal of that one.

But yeah, overall he had a shocker. Milner's persistent fouling wasn't called (and Mancini was wise to finally take him off) and the linesman on the far side had a shocker as well (offside call on Mirallas goal and Pienaar kicking ball of City player RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM but they get a corner.)

Its probably just as much that we notice bad calls in our games and against us more than we would against other teams.

You here refs being ****ged off from fans of all teams all the time.

Not that Probert wasn't a bit guff today.

Yellow was deserved on the 1st Pinnear tackle, it was done on purpose and he wasn't trying for the ball. I'm guessing he would have gotten a yellow for protesting if he didn't do that.

Refs have been awful all year, its just not us. The league is only about 33% English, I see no reason why the FA can't import better refs in.

Couldn't wait to hand City the 3 points. His casual swagger towards every player before showing the yellow card. Bad helmet.

Well I've lost count of the awful decisions in our games this season - not all against us it has to be said. You only have to think back to the non-winner for the RS to remember just how bad it can get - Coates was all over Jagielka (no free-kick, wrong) and Suarez wasn't offside. So no goal but for all the wrong reasons! Newcastle - no goal with the ball well over the line followed by a disallowed goal that was (albeit marginally) onside. Wigan's 2 goals at the JJB looked well offside, not to forget the big foul on Mucha for the opener last week. No penalty for us at Reading but a soft call at City and so on and so on. Well over half of these major decisions seem to have gone against us but I would say that wouldn't I?

he is normally quite good for us against little teams seem to loose control at times let city players infulence to many decisions should have booked diezko 4 dissent early on .

Lee Probert and the wanking rat - separated at birth? We should be told.

BRILLIANT !!!!

I was genuinely bemused that Milner wasn't booked after about six fouls. Shocking officiating, that. Osman's yellow was a joke, too. Useless prick of a referee.

I think you need to accept that as far as we were concerned his decisions to book Fellaini was spot on, Pienaar too (after giving a really poor free kick when two players bumped into each other - a nothing situation - Pienaar went in two footed). The 2nd Pienaar yellow looked, from where I was watching, like a clumsy foot up for a devious bounce. It seemed the City player made an awful lot out of nothing (if there was no connection or intent). I thought Osman was booked because the returning ball (to the City player for the free kick) accidentally bobbled in the wrong direction - looked a poor decision.

That apart he made a number of poor calls where City players should have been booked - the Mirallas goal was his assistants fault - the pen he didn't give us was poor, the pen he didn't give City is apparently the correct decision.

He relied on the assistant to give Fellaini his yellow card. Yes he was poor but the red for Pienaar only galvanised us - I wasn't bothered as I thought we would win and get a 2nd goal. Simply put City were 2nd best and after the card they didn't up their game (barring a short spell) - we had a few chances before the killer goal. So we can enjoy the result and moan about Probert if need be.

I was right by the Fellaini booking and it wasn't a booking, it was barely a free kick. Fellaini pointed out to the ref afterwards that it was his first foul against him. It was innocuous at best and a good ref after giving it would have just had a word.

The Fellaini penalty was debatable to be honest. Sure the man city player had his arms out but Felli played for it.

He´s a very poor ref though.

I can relate to having little time to make big decisions but it just seems like he opted for an easy way out every time.

Fellaini gets booked for a tackle which may have been worthy of a yellow but was his first one.

Milner makes EXACTLY the same tackle - same technique, power and position with other players in the same position too but gets away with it despite it being his fourth.

Baffling.

James Milner on the pitch 83 minutes consistently fouling, Baines, Osman and Mirallas all got done by him and not one yellow card.

As far as i can remember they were.

Fellainis was late and he jumped in, might have bruished the ball but still a yellow. Pienaars first was similar and his second was lucky not to be a straight red. Osmans was for delaying the start of play. Jelavic was for taking his shirt off.

Thats just the law mate, even if you disagree they should be bookings the law say they should.

Pretty much this. Fellaini's was a bit harsh and booking Osman was daft but Pienarr can't complain about his two yellows. If he hadn't been wearing blue I'd have been baying for blood. Booking a player for taking of his shirt is plainly crazy but he had no choice.

At City he gave them a penalty for tugs that City were let off with,Felli gets booked for a foul similar to one by Milner on Ossie that was play on resulting in Peanuts getting booked,Milner the deliberately fouls Ossie going forward no card though, the b****** owed us so **** their peno claim we were better and deserved to win,a few more performances like that until the end of the season an we can forgive the Wigan game
