Why do Evertonians expect success?

I don't think we have a God-given right to win anything, or even to expect to. I do believe we have the right to expect employees of Everton FC to give their best.

Anything can happen in cup games, even if they are a division or two lower - but it seems to happen to Everton, especially under Moyes an awful lot.

Anyone got Ancelotti's number? Sure he'd be happy to be the 6th highest paid manager in world football and he's not bad at his job.

We definitely have decent players right now. I'd like to see how someone else used them I think.

Again, no idea who though.

The problem is tho mate, yes we have good players.

But lets look at some of those players.

Howard, Neville, Osman, Distin, Jags, Pienaar, Hibbert.

None of those players are getting any younger and will certainly in some cases need addressing VERY soon.

Hitzlsperger is utter tosh and no way will be retaining at the end of the Season.

Fellaini looks nailed on to leave.

We have a few young lads to come in, Ross Barkley of course, maybe Duffy, Stones, even the likes of McAleny, Vellios, possibly, George Green and Lundstram, at least 1 of those will become a very useful player for the squad, but its not really perfect IMO.

So yes, somebody new might come in, do better than Moyes, im just a bit worried what happens next.

This is the problem- people want something, anything. Consistently getting 6th/7th is boring. We need to do something different- even being in a relegation fight because that is exciting right? Do me a favour

Well I really think we will get that opportunity next season to see- I really hope it works out but I cant forget the clueless Walter Smith or pathetic Mike Walker.

Mick it's quite simple, we work all week and on a Saturday we want to go and watch our football team and dare I say it, be entertained. The majority of games we have played under moyes have been dire to watch. His preferred style of football is boring and predictable. And it has been proved by our abysmal record against the better teams or in important games, it doesn't work.

Why don't we just confront the elephant in the room (not you Goat).

The sad fact is that we as a club will never see a consistent improvement above what we currently have without more money. No manager will get us the success we crave with £1.5m per year to spend, it's just not going to happen.

We might win a cup, but it's a big risk getting rid of a manager who brought you out of the relegation zone and has kept you out for 10 years just on the off chance.

I've come to accept that the board's performance won't be addressed by the majority of the fanbase until it's too late.

It's not a nice thing to say, but a lot of Evertonians are going to end up with the club they deserve very soon.

Thing is mate, you're suggesting that's an impossible mix to achieve, but Michael Laudrup (who I don't actually really rate) has managed all the above in one season.

The longer a manager has in a job, the better his chances of succeeding are. If you put a semi-decent manager in the Everton role and give him five years, he'll do well. And I know that to be the case because that's all Moyes is - a semi-decent overall manager.

There's nothing to fear from our next appointment.

He's been there for one year.

Lets see where they are in three or four.

Agree with this. Can't stand all that he's done well in one season lark. Look at Lambert, George Burley etc... Give it time FFS.

Although saying that Laudrup does seem to have something about him. But I'm not judging yet.

I have a massive problem with yesterday, Ive stated what I think the reasons are for the slump since the new year and I dont think its Moyes.

We need a new owner. Bottom line

I think we need both to be honest mate.

But if we lose the owner we'd lose Moyes I think.

If (and maybe when) we lose Moyes we are stuck with the owner.

*sigh

Christ. There's no hope is there?

*puts on Barca away shorts

I think it's also interesting that while people are bumming Laudrup for his £2m Michu transfer they're ignoring his £6m Ki transfer and the £6m he spent on Pablo Hernandez.
