Europe a good thing?

Yeah there is no need for diving for cover there ... is there literally a single person here who (assuming we don't make the CL) doesn't think Felli is gone?

Oh wait ... there may be one.

Even so ... he's gone.

I think people should swerve the idea of 6 players to bolster the squad ... don't forget about wages and how we have no money. Don't get too excited about that new TV money either. The board will likely budget for a lower league finish if we have a new manager. Speculation sure ... but educated speculation.

Six new players (one good and five squad as suggested above) is probably 40-50k p/w and 15k-20k p/w respectively? So around 125-150k p/w on the books. Then remove Felli's wages of course. Then add in all the agent's fees and transfer costs and bank's demands to service/paydown debt ... I'd be very surprised to see 75%+ of the Felli money spent purely on transfers. They might do some creative accounting where it looks like we've spent most of it but then we never spend any of this extra TV money.

Also I really don't think five average players will really take us foward but that's a different argument. We'd be slightly better suited for sustaining a Europa campaign I suppose.

With heintiga gone and players sold like cahill and yobo there will be money wages available

I'd prefer some european footy next season and a 10th-13th place league finish over another 7th place finish and no european footy.

Totally agree. I would also accept finishing 10-15th if it meant we won a bloody cup! I wouldn't want it to be a regular thing though (the league position, not the winning trophies!)

Arent Spurs still in the Europa League and what are they now, 3rd isnt it??

People would have you believe that its because they have a much stronger squad but they have used 32 players this season while we have used 22,Sounds a big difference but 8 0f those 32 have only played in 1-3 games so they have mainly used 24 players to get them to where they are.

I would like us to get in it.

According to Toffee Web we've used 28 players this season...

.....Europe is good. I don't think it adversley impacted our league form last time and I particularly enjoyed a few pints in the Lisbon.

I bet you did mate.

Oh right, I must have heard 22 in the Prem.

Well Spurs don't seem to be coping to bad do they,So I don't know why we should or would be too tired really.

Bale has saved them mate same as carzola for the arse and sewer rat for the RS, its a shame this was our best chance of top 4 as you can bet chelski will invest in a top class striker in the summer like falcao, and spurs will buy a top quality forward if they get top 4 this year which they probably will do, we could of pushed on but that square headed t**t Redcoat Bill didnt want to back the manager and he wonders why moyes has the cheek to not sign a new deal **** him moyes I dont blame you son.

Shame Fellaini couldn't do it for us.

Spurs do have a far better squad and regulary rotate, especially in defence. They maybe need another striker but as for attacking players they have - Defoe, Adebayor, Bale, Lennon, Dempsey, Dembele, Holtby and one of Sandro, Parker or Livermore behind them. I mean that is 10 players for 6 positions and every one is a top player. (not even including the likes of Huddlestone)

Arteta wages rodwell money . Surely the club can expect an extra 70k wages a week

thing is mate should felli, heitinga and one of our forwards go, we could bring in 3-4 £8-10 mil players with that money without including the sky cash, thats 1 additional face and extra wage, yet Distin and neville's wages will most likely be gone in the next year or so, so aslong as we can keep the squad size as it is (but with extra quality in the positions) and add maybe 1 additional that is good enough to play regulary then thats all we can really ask for until like I said Kenwright does one. Europa league challenge and hope for a cup or two is the best we can get until someone buys the club off that redcoat.
