Europe a good thing?

Yes Europe is good, it gives all those foreign johnny's some where to live

Or in the UK's case somewhere to come from

Games under lights at Goodison are ace

Piss ups in foreign parts are ace.

The Europa Cup is a dogs breakfast of a comp though

However the CL under lights with the Old Lady Rockin would be well past ace

But also well past Moyeses and the teams capabilities

Sadly.

Europa League qualification will pretty much condemn Everton to midtable next season. We just dont have the numbers to cope and that wont change anytime in the near future whilst there's no investment. Thursday to Sunday games through into late winter/early spring will find us out. It raises our profile on the continent and enables us to blood a few peripheral players though (as we have done in the past with the EL).

this is what Newcastle struggled with - however their board realised this and brought in 5 new players in the transfer window (i know they lost Ba), whereas we couldnt manage one

Yes, Europa is the best we can get till we get change at boardroom level anyway.

If we were Spurs or Arsenal however I wouldn't be assed about it though.

Prolonged success in Europe will bring increases in revenue and reputation

This ones a no brainer people

Agree 100% The more times we are in Europe means the better players will join us, which means we will be in Europe more often, which means better players will join us, and so on...
I understand the apprehension regarding squad numbers but with the TV cash and maybe Fellaini/Heitinga sales there should be no excuse for the Board not to strengthen our squad.
If we want to be seen as one of the top teams in England, we must be playing European football in my eyes.

6th WONT happen. In order us to get 6th, we need striker who can score 20 a season, we dont have a striker who can score even 10 so forget it.

I do think we have a good chance for europe as FA Cup runners up. We have a good record against Wigan which if we stay true to form, will get through to the semi.

We can draw, City, United or one of the sides in the Championship. If lady luck is on our side, we could be in with a good chance of getting to the final.

If we play City or United in the final, we will get battered, but its Europe either way! I think this is our only option, cause we are awful in the league and no signs of changing.

Whether a good or bad thing, failing to secure even a EL place this season, after all the hope and expectation, will be a real body blow for the club. Morale will be rock bottom and if we lose key players in the summer as a result of non-qualification we could unravel.

Europe is a must, a very big must.

Here's the thing though, what if we get qualification and.... Fella doesn't leave? Where does the squad strengthening come from then?!

Newcastle anyone?

The Europa League is not an unquestionably good thing.

It's not, but in all likelihood it's our only chance of achieving 'success' given the CL places are out of our reach and Moyes couldn't win a cup if he had to play Bradford in the final. It's a poison chalice, but at least it's a marker of progress.

wasn't really old enough to go away last time we were in europe so for this reason I want it back, I want to travel the arse end of nowhere in the freezing cold on a thursday night watching the mighty blues and I don't care who thinks its a bad idea

thats the ultimate fear.

I really cant understand how we could mess that transfer window up...

if/when we get euro place im sure board will do something to prevent burnout

I'd be made up if Everton qualified for the Europa League. As we've seen this season, a Champions League push isn't on the cards anyway.

The Europa League is not an unquestionably good thing.

Are you referring to Newcastles form this season?

They had gone off the boil towards the end of last season, the game against us at Goodison they were woeful and we won comfortably without that much effort.

They also have a complete jockey as a manager which doesn't help
