Moyes An His Contract.....

If he does go we could carry on doing as well, we might even improve. In the short term.

But if we get a replacement who doesn't have the same eye for transfers we could be in massive trouble within a few seasons.

Two or three years and you're looking at Jagielka, Pienaar, Osman, Howard, and Distin will all have needed replacing. I'm not confident many managers could come in and buy equal replacements to those with our funds.

This. He really is being a scrot. The transfer window is over now so sign the god damn Contract. If he does I reckon he will only sign a 2 year one. Has he even been offered one?

Why would Bill not offer him a contract? Davie has been keeping him in a job for 10 years.

If he doesn't, well, he's a bell of the highest order for not just saying so and leaving our season with this uncertainty hanging over us like a dark cloud. If a player was holding the club to ransom like this, I don't think he'd be delighted about it.

If he said right now this minute, "I'm leaving at the end of the season lads" - how exactly do you think our season would go from that point forward? Think we'd achieve anything? Think we'd finish in the top 7/8/10? Think the players would still want to know? Think the crowd wouldn't turn against him?

He's not a bell of the highest order. He's worked to the letter of his EFC contract, which he is perfectly entitled to do. He wasn't exactly backed massively in the transfer market by the board in the January transfer window. He's seeing where we're going first, and where we might end up, before he commits himself. The flip side is that there are no clubs sniffing around him, the Chelsea talk is just bollocks because he doesn't fit what they look for and Abramovich isn't going to radically change his decision making. Nor would Moyes radically change his philosophies to go there. Wenger is still at Arsenal, Ferguson is at Utd and not going anywhere yet, AVB is settled at Spurs, and Citeh are highly unlikely. that leaves no other jobs better than Everton.

Everyone needs to relax.

More than any other club though, this club is built in Moyes image, because he has been here so long. If Moyes went, and into another job, he'd likely raid of the club of all the backroom staff. That should be a worry in itself. Then there is his ability. It's fashionable amongst some Blues to knock him, but there's a reason why he's so highly rated by most non-Blues in the media and elsewhere - that's because he genuinely is great, and any replacement would not be up to Moyes' standards or ability. At the beginning we would be far worse off. This isn't Rodgers leaving Swansea after a couple of years and getting replaced by Laudrup. This would be Moyes going after 11 years, and his replacement likely not receiving any real transfer funds to put his own mark on the squad in the short and medium term.

There's not a single person at the club in any capacity who couldn't be replaced by someome worse if they left, but, with the possible exception of Baines, there's not a single one who couldn't be replaced by someone better too.

If we have to throw the dice, we will. Just hope Kenwright gets lucky a second time.

Bang on the money.

He's not holding the club to ransom at all.

If as many have suggested on here and elsewhere he is waiting to see where we end the season and\the direction of the Club and future financial support how do people think the newly agreed BPL salary caps as % revenue etc will influence his thinking? If at all!
I'll go sit back on my fence.

I just dont know why we are all in the mindset that only Moyes can keep us floating. I suffer from this too!
However, when you look at the bigger picture, Everton is bigger than Moyes and their is good managers around!

There are good managers around mate, but its the transition period which quite often can be catastrophic. I just don't believe the club have anyone lined up as a backup if Moyes moved to pastures new. So a period of uncertainty would occur until a suitable replacement is found. And knowing our board this wouldn't happen quick.

Depends if we get into the CL and if any other teams around the world contact him to become their coach.

In the past his compensation to relieve him on his contract would of been too much for clubs to take a risk on, he is keeping his options open nothing wrong with that.

I cant see him leaving if he doesent have anything else lined up, if he does leave stubbs and round are there maybe not a long term solution, but they know the team, drills tactics, ETC that moyes uses.
