Think the people who say he's a horrendous footballer arn't giving him enough credit. The lad could play a bit on the floor! Definatly would like him in the squad.

It took him 20 minutes to control a 5 yard pass.


Nah, he did improve towards the end of the season but for the first 10 or so games he played he was easily the worst footballer I've ever seen in a blue shirt. Still love the guy, though.

SOMETIMES FOOTBALL ISNT ABOUT THE BLACK AND WHITE OF GOALS AZZ.

He was an alright footballer, and an amazing psycho. I love him.

Without asking your age then EFCNIK, don't you remember Big Nev winning us the FA Cup in 1995? Double save from Scholes, plucking the ball off Pallister's head with one large hand and basically keeping Man U at bay for 90 minutes.

That aside though, I do miss Straq for the huge effort he put in and heart that he showed. Not the most talented player I have seen but I would prefer to have him running his guts out than someone like Drenthe jogging around and giving the ball away. Perhaps we can get him back on loan in a year or two and see if he has matured a bit more as an all round player.
 
He couldn't shoot and had the ball control of a hippo on ice.

However, anyone that will head a ball that's rolling on the floor and run like a loon for 90 minutes is ok in my books.

Mid 90s? When we bought the likes of Kanchelskis and Speed?

It was the early 00s under smith when we got Gazza and Ginola
 
I vividly recall the final against United. Nev was very good on that day, but not superb.
Coventry away in 1988, when we won 1-0 and Barnsley away in 1989, when we
won 1-0, were truly superhuman performances by Nev.

And certainly wouldn't say that United dominated the game for 90 minutes.

If you are gonna play with a lone striker, only a psycho like that will fit the bill.
