According to Eurosport we were a winner in the transfer window by keeping hold of our best players and signing a highly-rated young one. They have Spurs as one of the biggest losers for failing to sign striker cover as well as Chelsea who, they say, missed out on Fellaini, Willian and Butland. They also report that Arsenal will be disappointed not to have landed Huntelaar or Villa.

Wel, when you put it like that......................

It's a load of bollox, we all knew Moyesy wanted to keep everyone possible and he did, but it's still sh*t we didnt add more to it like we all wanted him to do!.

The sh*te go and spend on Sturrige and Couthino, attacking options to help them out in catching up with the European chasers, yet we bring in a young RB that will hardly see the bench his season, let alone the team!. Now which team and fans are going to buoyant for the rest of the season?!.

Are board and Kenwright should of mustered up the cash weeks before the deadline, not days, to give Moyesy every chance to sign players. What they clubbed together may of been small, but it would of give him the chance to look about more!.

I'd go with that scenario, tbh. It seems the only thing that'd fit why the money wasn't there at one stage and there at another....though I'm unconvinced the club were fully behind the loan and tried to push the envelope to a point where if Twente accepted terms, then ok, but if they didn't then that was ok too.

It came from a 'good friend to the club' I'd wager.

We've got 25million more from the tv money... Surely we shouldn't be asking for "loans" *wink wink*

I am happy that we never lost any of our main players during the transfer window, which was our main priority, although I was disappointed that we never signed someone that can go straight into the side and provide something a bit different. With all due respect to Phil Neville, surely we could have signed someone that offers a bit more to the team than Phil does.

Before I start getting any flak, I understand that he is the captain and brings qualities to the team, mainly his leadership and his focus and determination, but from solely a footballing aspect there are better footballers out there that would benefit the team more than Phil Neville does.

Intersting article that from Andy Hunter, i think we can take from that Moyes isnt too confident at all about finishing in the top 4, and that he wont be signing a contract anytime soon.

drenthe and gordon on free transfers i'd take. i don't blame moyes for not going in for drenthe - i understand he was let down consistantly but he's a special player who would provide something different. surely papa bouba diop is a better option than neville?

Dr Length had his 3 strikes and was disciplined. Will never be back here.

Hitzlsperger is better than Neville. He doesn't get played

Drenthe has signed for a club.
