2013 January Transfer Window Thread

I think we definitely have more than £2m

I agree. Plus most transfers seem to be paid on the drop these days. I was told at the weekend we were in for M'Vila and weren't too far away (lowish 1st installment with more to follow) but Rubin blew us out the water with their offer (on fee and wages). Suggests we do have some money there.

A couple of things this morning that maybe Sheeds can clear up.

A lot of buzz that we are going to get 2 players in this week but how will that happen when we have 2m to spend.

Loan Fees alone can be upwards of 2 million for a player.

I.d be over the moon if we got a CM and striker but something seems off to me and I have been through too many windows of BS to be taken in again.

Really hope I am wrong.

Firstly With the exception of moyes I'm not sure anyone would be happier than me if we signed a couple of players.

I keep saying it my 'source' isn't inside the club but does hear bits in the business and he believes we have around £2m to spend , which might stretch to two loans. If there is more money in there then brilliant and who knows what work is going on behind the scenes to maybe raise funds or structure deals but I'm surprised people who like to help spend the cash don't have a 'ballpark idea' of how much is there.

If we sell players then things could change obviously although we are a bit more cautious about selling with coleman's injury . A prem club has sniffed around him but most likely a last minute bid from Turkish side is expected but being the Turks don't expect an asking price offer.

Everton are almost impossible to second guess in the market and I've you took moyes quotes at face value your head would be spinning .

All we can do is sit and wait but like most people I'm not expending a spending spree and frankly some of the players & fees I see linked strike me as completely fanciful.

I still think there's a deal in place for JH and wouldn't be surprised if we get a cb in on loan.on Twitter this morning were linked to a cb from Anderlecht on loan yea I know it's Twitter but stranger things have happened.Cautiously optimist

I'm as certain as I can be there is no deal in place as clubs are still enquiring about him, there is interest but there has been interest for over a year and he's still here.

I imagine we have a small amount to play with around 2M or so would seem about right although there should be 5M or so kicking around from the rodwell sale (but that's another story).

You can never quite tell. Yes we're as always skint but we do have a windfall due come summer. Whether that's tv money, a potential fellaini sale, or dare I say CL qual.

IF something was to come about which was too good to ignore you live in hope that the board could make something happen based on future money. Eg if we were offered Rooney for 5M you bet your bottom dollar we'd find the 5M.

You just never know....and will have to wait and see.

Could,nt agree more.

I rate Scharner but we have come along way since first linked with him, be fun if we did sign him with big dunc being at club.

i'd have thought there must be an immenient deal if he expects too sign at least one, moyes would look a bit silly otherwise
