Out of the F.A Cup is a blessing in disguise

It's a definite advantage in the league for Liverpool and Spurs, especially due to how narrow our squad is, so at this point we're now "in for a penny in for a pound" with the FA Cup as we've sacrificed any chance of 4th really.

If we were to go the whole way and reach the FA Cup final we'd have to play a total of 18 games between February and the end of the season. Without the Cup games there would actually be times when the team would have a week without playing a match. The most games we'll have to play in one month is five. Five games in 30 days is not a big ask.

We've just played 12 games in December/January alone.

But they have Europe football and its over 2 legs.

Good point actually, that may be our saving grace in the league.

I still think that every game you have in the cup is a disadvantage for the league. At this point in time though I have us as heavy underdogs for fourth, so even I'm going to advocate a cup run.

Winning cups can bring a winning mentality into the team which got to be more important, the buzz if we won the cup would be amazing.

Thing is the league is off the weekends the FA Cup games are played, so it's not as though you're cramming extra games in mid week (replays notwithstanding, of course).

Ah yes another FA Cup v 4th spot in the League thread.

The correct answer is both.

Thing is the league is off the weekends the FA Cup games are played, so it's not as though you're cramming extra games in mid week (replays notwithstanding, of course).

This is true. Stay in the Cup for as long as possible, every time.

They are disguising the fact that they both weren't good enough to win, making excuses then.
What were we doing when we lost to Leeds, 'we can concentrate on the league now', no we weren't, we were pissed off at how poor we played along with the strange team selection.

As people have said already, only 4 more games more, that's less than what the red ****e and spurs have got in the Europa League.
