Away games - discuss.

Those people have paid just as much money as they have to attend that game, they've got absolutely no right to tell other supporters what to do. I'd have told the meffs to Frig right off there and then.

What do they think is going to happen? Do they think I'll be jumping up and bursting straight into song after some a scrote has been kicking off about me sitting down? Thumbheads.

I'm late middle aged ( 50+) and would therefore seem old to some of you lads who have only recently been ejected from yer mars vaginas.

I've been to many games where there were no seats and so standing was the only option. For many of thise games we were deeply gash and I'd have paid good money to be able to sit down.

The young people of today, don't know they're born ffs ( Brennan excepted ).

I'm honestly past the point of caring now.
Proof of the standing creates a better atmosphere myth is a load of bollocks was at Stoke for me, I was quite far back and people behind a few rows moaning about everyone sitting. To which they stood, and didn't sing a single thing. Whereas I was much louder by singing sitting down and getting a few chants going, so it's up to the fans to sing to create an atmosphere, we don't have to stand.

DING DING DING.

I honestly can't believe people go on about it so much.

STANDING = ATMOSPHERE THO LAD

ok mate

Think i know the people you're talking about actually. There was a small group a few rows in front of me to the left who stood up despite nothing exciting happening and people directly behind them being sat down.

Just to the left of the goal? If so yep, thats them.
They stood but did not sing, which is defying the argument that standing creates an atmosphere.

Sorry mate, but you've just reminded me of this glorious picture, the man who looks like a thumb:

They were blocking my view of the section between the goal and the right hand side corner flag. I was close to starting a petition tbh

Yeah, you weren't too far from me then and it was the same group of lads.
I remember West Brom away in the 10/11 season, think it was our last away, and I'm sure it was the same group of lads who were whining at people sitting down. The whole "Stand up, if you love the blues" came out and they were getting that irate they got kicked out, it was laughable actually haha.

Ill say this about standing - aesthetically it looks great, but I was at Villa when we sat down and it was a great atmosphere.

People go on about atmosphere now being bad compared to the 80s, but in the 80s in was the working class lads who wern't getting priced out of the game who were creating the atmosphere.
