Has Fellaini really got a £22m buyout clause in his contract ?

The fukn cretins that run our club would agree to something like this. Get them out. Get them all out. Disgraceful. We will never prosper if we agree to these contracts.

Let's be realistic - if we didn't agree to it he probably wouldn't have signed extension then where would we be in terms of his value? We're far from the only club to have release clauses for top players, it's just a part of modern contracts. £27-28 million if true is not an unreasonable clause because the type of club able to pay that he would force the sale, clause or no clause.

Honestly, its the only source I can find, if you have another, I would be happy.

You are ****in kidding right???

Oh, and no chance the sell on fee would be 20% of the sale ffs, that makes no sense. That means if we sold him for £25m we'd only end up with £5m profit after 4 years spent on him and him being a far better player than he was when we bought him.

The board are a bit stupid, but they're not that stupid.

No way that Everton would do something like buy a player for 15M and then put a 22M buyout clause in his contract...

...would they?

BBC website reporting it this morning as one of their headlines.

Then again, it's that whopper McNulty at the keyboard, so it's hardly gospel.

Apparently the buyout clause was a condition for fellaini to extend his contract. Otherwise he would have left for free this year.

Well, if true, at least we make some sort of profit if he goes for that...unlike some others that have taken us down to a free.
