Hi Guys,

Its 2 weeks before kickoff and the situation at EFC is as follows:
- No transfers in yet
- DM not signed contract
- CEO resigns
- AJ's transfer looks suspect
- Too small a squad to even be competitive in the league let alone other competitions
- Stadium plans in the water???
- etc etc etc

At this present moment, I am at an all time low supporting the club I love so much. The situation just seems to get worst everyday as we get closer the the kickoff of the new season. Rumours come along, get us all excited and then go again. What happened to Mr Love who was so much talked about? No news about Moutinho in the last day or so which is not good. Our squad it too small to compete, there are injury concerns to an already depleted squad and it seems as if something is either cooking re the stadium or our financial situation with KW resigning so quickly. When are we going to become an attractive enough club to be bought by a foreign investor or even just get a much needed cash boost from somewhere. It seems to me that we are going to be using future revenue to secure new players which is NOT a good thing. Nothing to fall back on should something happen. It shows me that this club is in a financial crisis and BK tikkiepocket is running out of change. We cannot continue to afford the salary demands of the premiership anymore if there is no fresh injection of funds. We gonna end up with a team of youngsters just in order to get a squad onto the field and then end up fighting the relegation battle which we are all too use to ...

This is just the way I feel at the moment. I might be taking it a little over the top but things dont look good!

Reasons to be cheerful ptIII

We haven't splashed out on another Koldrup, we haven't bought Owen, we have no serious long term injuries to the small squad we have, the squad seems happy and well motivated together, several key players are on newly signed contracts, some of the kids are looking like they could do something, we're not so far into the Tesco/Kirkby stadium that we'll lose money if it tanks, it's the worst time in the past 20 years to invest in property anyway so probably better off waiting, nobody liked Wyness, half speed warm up games against no mark opposition where half the first team is taking it easy and the only people out to impress are 16 year olds don't mean a thing.
And most importantly, the season hasn't started yet, it's all there still to play for.

Refreshingly honest. And concerning.

Hang on a sec, my sausage roll has pinged in the microwave.

They get hard if you let them cool. Ill be right back... Continue the refreshingly honest, yet concerning assesment.

thats more like it, optimism. take that guy out for a drink and watch he doesnt put valium in his pint.
Being optimistic is nice, but here's a reality check for you! Our club is the sh*te street. 15 days before kickoff and we dont have a descent enough squad to beat Blackburn. If we dont get our act in order we going to get our asses handed to us this year even by the newly promoted teams. DM is playing the youngers so that they can get exposure because I think he knows there is a big possibility that we might only get in 1-2 new players before season kicks off. That is not good for the club. We are in a far far worse state if you compare kickoff last year...

Although i remain concerned about our current situation, i firmly believe Moysey will pull a rabbit out of a hat in yet another masterstroke in the transfer market. Things could well look more healthy come August 15. My concern will be heightened however if no signings have been made by that time. Wyness and the stadium are not concerning me at all, its what we will do on the playing field and on the transfer front that i am concentrating on.

I have highlighted your concern.

If I remember correctly the only players we had signed before kickoff last season was Jutkiewicz, Pienaar & Jags. I think Baines came just after the first game or two, Yak & Wessels came even later.

But I see your point, compared to last september we are in a way worse shape now.

Glass half empty

Yeah, yeah and four years ago we'd 'lost' the so called best player in the country, brought in a bunch of cheap nomarks who hadn't lit up the championship, our only two established strikers were so far over the hill they qualified for OAP passes for the cable car back up, and we were favorites to get relegated. We finished fourth.

I'll admit to being a tad concerned at the lack of experienced cover for Tim Howard and it would be nice to get a few new faces in. But really we have been in far worse positions.

Dont get me wrong gents, I love this club to bits but we are not acting like a club who has ended 5th in the league table last season. I know DM loves to wait until the market has almost closed to bring in a few players but frankly we dont have a descent starting 11 at this point in time. If we had a descent starting 11 those new players could fit into the system nicely.

KW was supposed to be negotiating the deal with Topal while the boys were over in the states. What is happening to that deal now?

All the negative press if not good for the morale of the lads, it will affect them in some or other way.

DM knows that if he's going to play most of the starting 11 in the warmups then they will surely burnout before half of the season has passed.

What's going to happen if Arteta gets another long term injury? What's going to happen if the YAK gets hurt? I dont even want to think about it.

Another reality check, the redshite has probably got 2 first terms that can run onto the park and believe me I think even the 2nd will beat us...

I have to say I am getting more and more worried each minute.

I am usually an optimistist when it comes to Everton but this is really testing that.

The worse thing is that it is quite dead at work so am just siting here refreshing Sky Sports and coming on here which is frustrationg me more.

I still have enough hope that all will be well that suicide is not an option at the moment.

Things do look grim.

But the plain truth is, we havn't got a clue whats going on. For all we know, were on the verge on 3-4 big signings. An every one buzzin again.

Just wait an see what happens.
