ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Liverpool's staff (and fans) and their delusions about the 'brilliance' of their own players remind me of young women when the Spice Girls came out.

They went on and on about how 'beautiful' all five were, when in truth they were just 'average'. The idea being, I suppose, that if the Spice Girls get to be considered 'beautiful', then there's a good chance they will be too.

Liverpool fans cannot accept that they are supporting a mediocre side. That is NOT what they signed up for. The TEAM sucks, so they are bigging up the players. Like a man living in a sh1thole with a 60" plasma screen telly.

Forgive me, it's too early in the morning. :)

For a team with what, 5 or 6 so-called "World Class" players it's amazing how these 5 (or 6) can't drag the other 5 or 6 players into the top end of the Premier League - which means they aren't World Class or the World Class term needs to be extended to include a similar number of players from 6-8 teams in the Premier League alone.

Leave it out - Reina is nowhere near World Class (and never has been), Lucas - you're having a laugh. Gerrard - certainly not these days - Suarez - well maybe he's a pretty good footballer but he's disqualified from the epithet WC (which really needs to be restricted to something like no more than 20 footballers anyway), Johnson, Allen, Joe Cole (you're sh1tting me, no?) - pretty hilarious frankly. Better add that Sterling kid as well. Everton on the other hand have 3 players at the peak of their game (Fellaini, Baines, Jelavic) that teams like The RS would cough up £70M (at the very least) and bite your hand off to have in their side but I don't hear the term World Class being banded around too often for those three.

"Lucas comes back:

We have balance in the midfield,
We don't get done over from break aways after every attack we make,
Allen looks a more dangerous, creative player,
Gerrard has a better game,
We win,
We get a clean sheet,
He makes more tackles than any other player in the league on the day,
He makes our defenders job easier (especially full backs, he doesn't half cover each side of the pitch backing up the fullbacks so well, making them have good games).
He improves the togetherness of the team,
We get to read classy tweets from him after every game."

No rawk but still...

any proper kopites are going round dazed at the shenanigans of those tools

Liverpool are a better side than people give them credit for, at least they are starting to beat the teams they should be beating. Unlike us...

I agree with this to a point tbh

I think once they buy some attacking minded players they will win alot more games than they have been as they do create alot of chances

That said there team is very avreage given the 100s of millions they have spent over the last few years, I would take maybe Johnston and Agger out of the first team

There was considerably more justification for saying that Mel B was fit than there is in claiming Lucas is world-class though.

We can learn from Liverpool TBH. All of our good play and hard luck stories over the last 3.5 months, games we should have won, teams we played off the park but couldn't find a goal, yet by simply beating 4 very weak teams this season (mostly by 1 goal margins), Liverpool are closing in on us.
