Lescott : would you have him back?

But refused a new one because he demanded more money than the club were willing to pay.

Pienaar turned us down just to warm Spurs bench and earn a little bit more money
, Lescott was headhunted by the richest club in the world in order to play a part in winning trophies, trophies that he would never have won if hadn't have left.

Moyes was more pissed off than anyone about the Lescott transfer, but it seems even he is willing to entertain the prospect of a return for Lescott.

Pienaar wanted a fair pay rise in line with his performances, the club said no. That's their choice, not his. If that joke of an organisation had just given him the increase he deserved they wouldn't have lost a few million buying him back.

From a purely footy perspective it makes sense. He wouldn't need time to jell with the squad or learn the defensive system etc.

If I recall correctly. Pienaar didn't even want parity with Arteta, he wanted slightly less, which I don't think was unreasonable in the slightest considering at that time he was performing better than Arteta by a good bit. He must have felt undervalued and I can't blame him for wanting to go on that basis.

Just think of yourself in your own job. What if the guy next to you was on double what you're on, and even though you're better at your job than he is, your employer won't pay you as much as him. Would you stay?

Would you sh*te.

Why should he aplogise for the Arsenal game? Moyes picked him when he clearly wasnt right to play. If Pienaar played in that derby would still be hanging him out to dry for the defeat?

To be fair mate Moyes continues to stick with Anichebe despite the fact that it's well known he's an absolute c**t off the field, and a bit of a bulb on it.

True but we have a member who is actually saying a everton player threw a game and im sorry that is b*****s
Is it really Kev? Is it r3ally K3v? I5 1t r3a11y K35?!
Good one nic, great post for your argument in that lescott threw that game

I'm staggered by your interpretation of events.

Pienaar moved to Spurs just so he could earn a bit more money, and it soon turned out that he wasn't as good as he thought he was, and he was soon pleading Tottenham to let him move back to Everton before you knew it.

And Pienaar's form leading up to the move was actually rather poor, and anyone who thinks he was deserving of becoming our joint highest paid player on 75k a week is insane.

You say that like's it hypothetical. I work at a buisness where your wages are dierctly linked to how long you've been there. Pretty much everyone else is on twice my wage.

I doubt its a rare situation, either. I'm on enough, why should I care what other people on?

Lescott threw the game mate. The most unprofessional piece of **** I have ever seen. I understand at that point he wasn't getting his way, but when you are asked to do a job- and our getting paid ridiculous amounts to do that job- you get your head down and get on with it.

We would all be sacked with the job we wanted to go to also ending their interest, if we adopted his attitude in our every day jobs.

You're staggered by the truth ? Fair enough. He didn't even want 75k originally. Are you saying Arteta was noticeably better than Pienaar at that time ? Was he [Poor language removed].

No, I'm staggered that you think Pienaar was worth 75k a week.

And I'm staggered by how you are affording Pienaar all the excuses in the world when he ended up jibbing off Everton just to sit on the bench at Spurs, whilst continuing to hold a grudge against Lescott for jibbing Everton off in favour of joining the most expensively assembled squad that the world has ever seen, and winning trophies that he would never have won without moving.

FFS!

The poeple that hate Lescott arnt blaming him for moving. We're blaming him for his ****ty attitude. See my above post.

And then everyone koff. You're all missing the point.

I'm sure it isn't either. Some people won't care what other people are on but in the case of Pienaar he obviously felt he was undervalued, and I agree with that. I had a dispute with a former employer because his son (who was also one of my best mates) was getting paid more than me, and by a good little bit too. He had been there a year longer than me but I was better than him at the job we did and I was more qualified, so he put me on level wages with him, which I thought was fair enough.

In football I don't think if you've been at a club longer it means you'll generally get paid more, it's usually on age and ability, and Pienaar was the better player at the time and slightly older. Maybe that was the logic behind the boards actions, but it backfired.
