I'd have him any day of the week. Jags seems back to his best and always did do better with Lescott at the side of him and with those 2 at the heart of are defence, we'd be solid again IMO to go with are new attacking flair and creativity.

definitely a yes from me. I know he left on very **** terms but i think he'd come and perform!.

It would be embarrassing for all concerned if he came back.

you mean like pienaar.

he basically did the same thing, left for more money, it didnt work out and he was welcomed back with open arms, and to take the pi** even more asked to pay 1.5m on top of what we sold him for at the age of 30.
at least with lescott we got 24m for him, yeah he never played well against arsenal but moyes treated him like **** over thwe whole thing aswell,

Did he sh*te.

99% of all footballers would do what Lescott done to Everton, leave for a much higher wage packet and sadly to a club with better prospects than us.Though I hated him at the time,( 6-1 to Arsenal),I would have him back,Distin's 35,Heitinga's gone backwards and lets face it the Jags / Lescott partnership was the best since Ratcliffe and Watson, both present England internationals, its a no brainer.

No doubts about it, this!.

Is right, Peinaar played down his contract and left that way. Lescott wasn't going to be let go so he had to force Moyes hand the only way he could.
Both are equally gits for what they did, Lescott got us a shed load of money, Pienaar cost us money but that is footballer for you. I would have him back purely because he is a half decent footballer.

How is playing out your contract in any way the same as forcing your club to let you out of your contract ?

*sigh*

Completely different situation.

not really pienaar basically forced himself out of the club, he gave the club no option but to sell him by dragging out his contract, continualy saying "I am happy at the club" for 18 months before he left, the only option was to sell him on the cheap.

at least lescott came out and said he wanted to leave, then even handed in a transfer request, we all knew what the situation was, he didnt bull**** us and say "I am happy here". the lescott was win win for everyone, we got 24m they got lescott.

the pienaar situation we effectively paid spurs 1.5m to have him for 18 months and then took him back at 30 years of age.

Don't think he's any better than Distin myself however him and Jags did look better than Jags and Distin do...

distin has to be rested now and again he cant handle the amount of games in a season. hence there are always changes at Cb and we are always conceding.

Yeah, really.

Pienaar signed a contract. His obligation was to see out that contract, which he was doing. Everton could have just given Pienaar the pay rise he deserved in the first place, instead of continuing their reputation for being a gang of whoppers.

Lescott signed a contract. He kicked up a fuss and forced the club to sell him.

Not the same. At all.

Its not its worse, he wouldn't comit to signing a contract or not for over a year and then left giving us sweet FA, Lescott on the other hand handed in a transfer request and made sure his boss knew he wanted to leave for a CL club when they came in for him. Its the same because they both s**t on us from a great height and I would have little doubt that we have plenty of players that would do the same..
If you watch the Arsenal game, most of the goals were not even Lescotts fault, I didn't think he was any worse than the rest of the back 5 to be honest.
Its not like we were'nt compensated with 24 mil, at the end of the day is it any different to anyone who puts in a transfer request? He got annoyed because he was going to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.. What would you of done if you played for Plymouth and Everton came in for you?
At least we knew where we stood with him instead of winding down a contract leaving us guessing 'I may sign soon' for a year whilst his value decreased and decreased to the point where we were gratefull for a couple of mil.
Could be worse I suppose, you could hand in a transfer request with half an hour of the window remaining when Arsenal come calling... runs for cover.
