Best 5, Worst 5

Davies was made a scapegoat in a team that struggled and he wasnt given a fair run of games to prove himself.

so he was a better buy than jags? i belive he started over 40 games for everton (will stand corrected) which surely counts for being given a fair crack of the whip

We wont mention the last 2 goals scored against us then! As it was the same player at fault in both goals

The Arsenal and Newcastle goals? The fact that you actually think Jags was at the fault for the Arsenal goal just shows me that you know [Poor language removed] all about football. It was an excellent header and most defenders would have struggled to stop it.

The Newcaslte goal was Yobo's fault, he gave away the pen.

Anyway, I'm talking about all round performances. I thought Lescott was sloppy towards the end of the season and wasn't getting forward as much. I don't expect you to agree but that's my opinion.

Arsenal - I wasnt talking about the actual header Tb. It was the fact he let a 6ft 4 Blonde striker waltz into his area and give him the opportunity to score with a free (Albeit a very good one) header.
Newcastle - Who allowed the player to get by him with so much ease even yobo was shocked by? It was original mistake which led to yobo giving the pen away
As for Lescott didnt he score against toon? He must have got forward for it am sure

give it a rest man!

jags has stepped up from championship player to premiership player to international.

saying that simon davies was a better signing (we are not talking about ability) is silly. davies never settled in the team and a different signing, joe cole perhaps, would have benefitted the team far better than simon davies did.

van der meyde of course is a better player ability wise.. but a better signing?

how can a signing be considered good if he does not play. regardless of injury. no games = manager regrets signing.

jags is a centre back. not a pele or maradonna. he himself will admit that. but as a centre back he has been an excellent signing as he was part of a top 5 finishing team with one of the most watertight defences in the league.

kroldrup? you said he plays well for his country so he was a good signing?

he played one game after a 5 million pound move.

your logic that they should not be critized if they don't play does not stack up. you sign players to play.

if they don't play = bad signing.

Are we not talking about ability? Surely a player signed who has little ability should be considered a bad buy

ok i think i see your point of view.

even though jags played nearly every game and won an england call up, you think VDM was a better signing because he is a better technical player?

Neville played every game as well mate, i still wouldnt put him down as a good player, i guess by your logic neville should play for england as well

If you watch again N'Zogbia beats Ossie to the loose ball, Jags and Carsley go to close him down and he skins them. That happens, players get skinned but it doesn't mean he was at fault for the goal. It was Yobo's fault for sticking his leg out and making the foul. He got caught flat footed and made the wrong decision.

The Arsenal goal could have happened to any centre half. Bentdner dropped off Carsley and attacked the ball. If it's Jagielka fault then you could say the same about Carsley. In reality it wasn't anyone's, things like this happen all the time.

It happened to Lescott the game before actually against Villa when Carew scored. Is he at fault?

I'm talking about Lescott's general all round play in the final third. He dribbling wasn't as good, his passing was sloppy at times and he wasn't as effective going forward. Yes he scored from a set piece but thats not what I'm talking about, he's always going to be a threat at set pieces whether he's playing well or not.

Anyway, I didn't expect you to agree with me or Moyes so we'll leave it at that.
