Its all pointless anyway, I mean look at the list, some of the names above him and just below are stealing a living out of the Clubs.
If a complete joke like Hughes can earn the same amount as Moyes, hes clearly underpaid.
Agreed. But few other things to think about I reckon. What's the role of a manager (ok, can vary a little depending on the club ahem,, Chelski) but in general I think it's: Transfers, Tactics and Motivation.
Transfers - 8/10 - his record is great (bar a few, we all know who they are) as he's regularly polished turds or scratched diamonds from the lower league coal mines - Timmy, Jags, Seamus and Lescott et al. People always bang on about giving him more money to spend and that we'd win the league. But, look at others - Fergie, Wenger, Hughes all arguably made their best buys (Cantona, Vieira, Anelka, Santa Cruz) before they opened the pot at the end of the rainbow - why, coz being brassic concentrates the mind. Just a thought like.
Tactics - 6/10 - anyone that seen a kung fu movie knows that anything is possible in a fight..... even without a knife! You don't have to always dodge and wait for them to run out of bullets (after being hit a few times) before you go for the Alamo in the last 10 minutes (and get a draw). Ok. That was previous seasons and I thought this was different - flurry of roundhouses, combos ahoy and generally looking great but without the death blow. But, then hit by (we all see it coming) the classic Karate Kid crane kick right on chin. Ow. Moan.
Motivation - 7/10 - only so many times you can rely on the underdogs billing to motivate, seems weird that as soon as he starts talking up the team they go belly-up. Also, after recent games half time seems a wee bit dour from second half performances.
On the whole, I think Moyes is / has been great and is a great fit for our club - decent, loyal, realistic, pragmatic and basically a sound guy. However, there's a bit of me that feels he's been here too long and the same feeling of fear that we all have when we're one nil up, he shares and inevitably, goes defensive. I thought this season was different and that Moyes was different, but seems after the last few games he's retreated back into his Blue shell. Or maybe that's just us fans polluting the present with the past.
Last thought - bang for buck - Loew or Klopp seem best
